I have a IX.. If you think it'd help you, i can snap a few pics of the same area to illustrate the differences/design changes.

Sometimes you have to really explain it to death for warranty and recall stuff (was a 3000GT VR-4 owner before the Evo).

Nah, thanks for the offer Krusaderx... I have a IX, and we have about 3 more here to look at...

Also, who on here has had it covered? Those are the VIN's I really need to get ths going.... but everyone with this rust issue, the sooner the better with the pics and the VIN.. I need to get it to my rep quickly.

mines got it too, but i havnt filed a claim or anything. ill get my info to you, maybe i can get something out of this

 

GM did the same thing to me on a trans am... corrosion warranty is useless...

 

My 9 had 11K on it when I bought it, and there is rust on the inside of the trunk sill where the rubber footing is (both sides).

I called the dealership and complained and made sure it was covered under warrenty (10yr/100k corrosion ???), they said they would service the corrosion.

I will be taking it in very soon...

 

kool - man, had the rust spots @ about 18K and have been denied by mitsu ever since...will def pm you my info in hopes of retribution

Thats the problem with mine as well... I've never tried to do anything about it though. I just figured they would give me some lame *** excuse why they won't do anything about it. You guys should take pics at the open house, you'll have access to a lot of cars that day.

 

how about the clearcoat coming off? I have a very small spot that is odd colored, just wondering what others have done or how mitsu has gotten out of it (not to take this off topic, but some may have CC issues in addition to rust with that huge wing!)

 

i too have some surface rust underneath my wing and it went as far as the edge all the way down my trunk, ill try to get you some pictures
