i noticed this thing on my wife's subaru too. no use that i know of

 

somebody has to find out what this is.. I might go to the dealership just to ask someone.. hahah if they know it'll be the first time anyone there can tell me anything I don't already know about my car

Seriously, there is a square plastic molding on the back of the dash behind the vennt... i mounted my BT mic there but no one can hear me unless i yell

I have that vent too, but I never cared what it was for up until now. LOL. Maybe I should just look to see whats behind that dash....

 

That is where I have my BT mic, but I don't use the BT much. The car is too loud under anything more than city driving for it to be useful.

I don't really care though, I didn't buy my Evo for amenities, just happened to come with the deck I put in, which was strictly for an iPod connection.
