I'm pretty sure it's for the bluetooth microphone on Japanese spec models.... or at least that's what I heard somewhere on here.

 

i hadn't seen it on anything but the 06's. I always figured it was a spot for a temperature sensor for cars with electronic climate control...

 

good call, another possibility.

My buddy's got his BT microphone there...

i don't have that in my 04, i agree though with previous posters probably for BT mircophone.

In my experience with working on hondas and now being a honda salesman. We have those on all the new hondas it is a humidity sensor for the HVAC system to keep the windows from fogging up. Now that is what it is on Hondas not sure if Mitsubishi uses it for the same thing or not

 

Don't know what that is, but what does that video have anything to do with this?

Sorry i havent cleaned my car since i had work done at AMS, it got a little dusty. Don't worry i'll armor-all it this weekend!

 

On my mazda which has one on the same spot, it is for the climate control. Look under the dash and see if there is a big white tube comming from that area. I though it was only needed for AUTO climate control though.

I have that on my 06 SE and always wondered what it was as well.
