Changing springs

The previous owner of my car put Tein S Techs on the car and after researching and driving around with them... I hate them. I was going to wait for enough money to get coilovers but I just cant stand having them at all now. I want to put the stock springs back on. Is this a hard job to do? Do i need to take it to a shop or can I get it done myself? What tools will I need if I do.

You can do it yourself. You just want to have everything you need before you start taking things apart.

Just basically do this in reverse:

Okay that was misleading. I meant reverse what you are changing out.

A buddy helps but it can be done by yourself. Make sure you put the "loaded" strut up against a good sturdy wall with some cinder blocks behind it before you pop the strut shaft nut. Yeah, it's a little "backyard" but it works. From an aftermarket compressed spring, you won't have as much contained force as you would with the stocker. I've done spring swaps/removals where I didn't even need a compressor. You're gonna have to really crank down on the old stock ones though to get 'em back in. You may want to rent an extra compressor and use it to crank down on the next set of rungs once you compress it initially. Honestly, I haven't ever put Evo stocks back in. No one ever wants it that way.

Well buy some s techs haha and you will want stock back on quickly. I really dont want stock either because they are rather soft as well but Id rather have those than s techs. Soon tho i will have either megan or buddy clubb coilovers =]

And as far and changing springs, me and my friend did some eibach sportlines on his 05 civic SI yesterday and it was fairly easy until the axle came out of the joint but other than that ull probably want two ppl. u can buy spring compressors whereyou tighten them with a socket(thats wat we used)and they work fine. but fairly easy job, took about 5 hours even with running into the axle prob.

Must do alignment when you're done.

Also, don't forget about Hotchkis. They really do make a good set of springs.
