cats and your evo?
cats and your evo?
i'm kinda **** about my car, i really dont want cats crawling all over it or peeing on the side of it and all that. the thing is the neighbors cats are the problem. so i talk to the guy, who by the way is a great guy, we talk regularly, and he says he'll get rid of one of the cats that we think is the problem animal. these frickin creatures spend more time in my yard than his. i told him to fix the problem or i'll fix it and he was wooooo up lets work this out. cool, so i'm waiting. i love the guy, best neighbor i had in a long time, BUT when would you guys say enough is enough?? i can wash my car then the next day i have paw prints on it. some of these cats are peeing on the sides of the car.
it'll be real easy to trap them in my garage and export them to another area rather than kill them.
i guess i'm trying to see what the level of caring you guys have with cats on your cars. just let them be and have a paw print car forever are fix the problem and tell the neighbor "i dont know what happen to your cats".
my wife, a former cat owner is starting to see my side in this. what would other evo owners do.

I had a similar incident except it was a stray, so I didn't have anyone to talk to about it. I ended up taking care of it myself, and haven't seen the cat since. I haven't noticed any on my car since, but they would occasionally take a dump on front porch.
My damn neighbor is one of those "weird ladies" who puts food out on her porch for all the strays, throws bread and crap out for the squirrels and birds, etc.. I started scooping up the crap and throwing it over on to her porch. Now I have a yr old dobie who tries to eat anything that enters my yard. I haven't seen a cat or squirrel near my house since last fall.

You're in a tight spot. If your neighbor is cool; then you shouldn't move or harm the cat yet. Many neighbors can be pieces of sh*t, so count your blessings. The cat thing is a small issue, but you can ask him if he can keep the cat in at night. Maybe get a good car cover if you don't have a garage. If all else fails, sniping it at night with a pellet gun will work. Aim for the neck, lol..........j/k.

I had a similar problem once at my old house before i had my dog.
A neighbors cat would crawl on my car just like that and come onto my porch and sit in my window.
was kinda creepy actually..
I would turn around and all of a sudden this thing is staring in my window at me..
LOL
Don't know where I heard this but I took some cayenne pepper and sprinkled it around my driveway and on my porch/window sills, etc.
Just did it every 2 weeks or so and I never saw the cat again in my yard..
You can try that, or maybe some pepper spray around your tires on the driveway,etc..
Or GOOGLE : "cat repellant" or something, see what pops up..
I googled it and found 100"s of safe non harmful recipes that work..
Since it's your neighbors cat, I wouldn't do anything to/with the cat..
You could end up with "cruelty to animals charges and get the aspca involved.
Even though he's cool now, Do something to someones pet and they get a little peeved..
just my 2 cents, but just to be safe.
You never know what PPL will do..
Good Luck

Hmmm....I remember seeing a thread like this on the SVT Performance board...every redneck on that site was all for killing the cats...
Now, since I own an organic pet company focusing on cats (organikat.com) AND I co-own a company that makes parts for the Evo I would say this...
Get over yourself. You want to kill a cat (or you've at least entertained the thought) because there are paw prints on it? Are you kidding me? I used to have a stray that would sleep on the heat vent on the Evo. I thought it was cool that the most comfortable place for that cat was my Evo.
If you have feral cats in the area, have a shelter come by and pick them up. There are ways of dealing with this that don't involve killing. And just because your girlfriend is "beginning to see" your point of view only tells me that you've successfully poisoned her with the idea of killing the cat.

Them peeing on the car is one thing but if they were ever to climb on my car and leave marks, it would be the end of the world.
