Clean IX MR

Very first post on this forum. I've always been an EVO fan and think I'm finally gonna give in to the urge.

Found a car with 9,500 miles on it and as far as I can tell it is in close to showroom condition, never modded and babied pretty much. So based on that I have two questions;

How much is a car like this truely worth (car is in Texas)?

How long do the original Advan tires typically last? I've read 10,000 miles but I would think it depends on the driving. This car has the original tires on it and the tread looks like it would easily last another 5k. Is this right or do I need to worry?

Thx.!

The price should be around 28k ish, but I've seen different numbers, both higher and lower.
My stock advans lasted 18k and I drove it like a grandpa, but had 1 track day.

If the car wasn't driven hard then there is no reason they wouldn't have at least another 5k miles left in them. Sounds like a great car; its worth whatever you're willing to pay for it! I think anywhere between $25-28k would be a fair price. What is the asking price?

Depends if the car is from a private party or dealership. If the car is around $25k, I think it's a steal, but around $28k seems fair, expect higher if it's at dealership

A/c ?

Asking price is $30k, but I think I can get it for $28k. Should be more like $27 since I will need tires in a few months.

Another question; How well does the A/C work on these cars? It's darn hot (97 degrees average) in Dallas May thru August.

Thx for the feedback.

Smile A/C works good on mine.

The A/C works very well on my MR. I hate to bring you down or anything, but if it was me buying the car, I would not buy it used. You never know the 100% truth about the car. Maintainence issues could come, clutch problems could come up, and other important issues could come in the way. Even though the car may have been inspected by a first rate dealership, the car is still a used car and I would never buy a used car...especially at that high of a price. I know you like Evo's so why don't you get the brand new Evo X GSR. I know, I know the X is not the same hardcore driver's car as the IX, but it's still pretty nice. I heard that you can get a new X GSR in Houston, TX for as low as $30,000. That's most likely a base model, but that's only a couple of thousand dollars more than the used MR that you are very interest in. I have a 2006 Evolution IX MR SE and I'm advising you to consider more options just to be on the safe side. All the best and good luck my friend.

My A/C is cold but far from the best I have experienced. The Bimmers have a significantly colder set up but if you crank the A/C all the way up in your Evo you really shouldnt have a problem, its just not the best.

A/C should be good. I bought mine with 12k on it from a guy i Knew that worked in a BMW dealership. Took good care of it but i did look it over and inspected it. Also asked him for service records. He didn't have them but gave me the name of the dealership he took it in for service to. One phone call and a trip there and i was able to verify that all services were done at the appropriate times and that no warranty work was done. I suggest you try to do the same. Good Luck

Welcome to forums. I am in plano as well. I drove to St Louis to get my 06 IX SE and paid 23600. It had 23k miles on it never modded or driven hard.

A/C works great much colder than my wife's porsche. she always taking my car out in summer time. Look me up if you have any more questions that need help locally.
