Do i buy an Evo with a salvaged title?

I have been looking to get a evo for a long time now, but just havn't done it yet. I found a few with salvaged title's in my price range. They both are theft recovery's but now both fixed. one's $15,700 2003 evo with 41,000 miles and has HKS BLOW OFF VALVE, HKS 3in DOWNPIPE, HKS 3in TURBO BACK EUGASUT, EVO 9 RIMS, BRAND NEW TIRES, CUSEO FRONT SWAY BAR, THIS ONE HAS MOON ROOF, RECENTLY TUNED TO 19 POUNDS OF BOOST, STAGE 3 CLUTCH, injen cold air intake and upper and lower intercooler pipes. Then other one is just a stock evo 9 with also 41,000 miles for 17,900. Seems the price for a nice evo keeps going up so i might have to get one with a salvaged title.

It all depends on how good of a deal it is, and if you know the history of why it has a salvage title in the first place.

I'd have to say I agree, I think the only time you would look for salvaged is if you were turning it into a track car.

If the car was fixed/repaired correctly there is really no down side to salavge title cars. as for the resale it dosn't affect it that bad. I have seen hondas with salavge title's go for just as much as non salavge title cars.

You will have to ask yourself, "What will I be doing with this car?" Track car=could care less about the title. Street car=make sure you find out all you can about the individual car.

I would assume that it would also be harder to insure affordably...

Once Insurance checks the car out it would be no different.

15k for salvaged is nuts. I just got my 8 for ~18k 50k miles... perfect history.

Salvaged usually go for 4.5k -> 12k. I wouldn't pay any more than that range.

hell to the no on salvage title evo. i am telling you, DO NOT buy one w/ a salvage title, you never know what kind of history the car's been through and even if you get it, evo's always break down either small parts malfunctioning or big. just buy a used on that way you can check the history

well, i would but 20 evos (1-9) with salvaged titles if it was either that, or buying the slower evo 10.

If its fixed right, who cares!

good luck.
