Head to Head H2H Ep10, EVO IX RS Vs. EVO X

The posted weight (3344 pounds) and price ($32,990) is way off.
No surprises in that video though... but it would've been better to have compared a IX MR and a X MR.

Yeah they should have done the MR vs. the MR - I can agree with you guys on that one.
Don't get me wrong the X is a cool car - but I just can't see spending that much $ for something not as quick as my IX. The IX has such a rally bread look to it I don't see in the X.
I do, however, think that the X looks sick with some different wheels and lowered.

After selling my IX, I was considering the X for a little while. But my brother still has a IX MR and I'm the one that keeps it clean and detailed. While washing and waxing the car I can't ever look at it and not love it. The X looks nice and has a much better interior and a lot of things going for it. But I'm a IX guy at heart and I don't think any other car is going to satisfy me like my IX did. I'm trying to decide if I want to pick up another MR or just get a regular IX.

^ About the IX's interior, it's just the HVAC controls that make it look low-rent. The Orbital dash kit and a screen make it look nearly as nice as anything else in its price range.

I would love to be able to design something that would work with a carputer to make something like a digital HVAC control. The Evo's HVAC is mechanical though, so I'm not too sure what I can do to make things compatable.

LOL @ comparing the RS and an MR.
They're two completely different creatures. The RS has had everything stripped out of it to make it the best track car possible. The MR has all the creature comforts added in.
Kinda like comparing apples and oranges, don't you think? Especially since there is an X RS model out now.

i think most of you guys miss some points. To make the X faster is really not hard. Most of the guys are running in they evo's around 300-400 whp.
Now to achieve that number the X is easy. Just like the IX, if not easier.
All this is comes down, for fast dd car the X wins hands down. For track car i still think ,and mainly because the after market availability, the IX or the VIII is better. For now.
For the price. i got my X GSR for $33.290.
My VIII costed /SSL/ 04 $33.690. My IX RS was a great deal as the RS is as usual./under $28k/
So the X price is not bad at all. Specially if think it thru . Like 18 inch rims and wider tires, bigger breaks/fact my PMU BBK is a same size / AYC , 7 airbag, etc. and if you think about it the price difference doesn't really that big. In my situation i got my X cheaper then my VIII.
About this test i'm with those guys who stated the MR vs MR race.
Also on the side note, the fastest trim on 1/4 is a IX RS. Just make sure you know it guys.
On track the MR runs faster because the suspension and the ABS.
Also my X with empty trunk and no rear seats, is 3352 Lbs with full tank of gas
I had a IX RS and the VIII and i did drive VI for a year. I do believe and not for starting argument. the X is not a step back for Mitsubishi.
sorry for being off topic.

the place they made my corner balancing is specified for racing wheel alignments and install etc. They have a very sophisticated equipments etc.
So the weight is spot on.
Now i have different coilovers and rims and tires too. BUT my rims and tires are wider so probably a same or little less then factory. The coilovers have reservoirs , so there is a negligable weight difference vs factory.
Only thing i can say the X GSR is not that heavy. I didn't weighted the car in factory form since i didn't care
And dont forget, my tank was filled up all the way.

nope they dont weight 210 lb. Fact the bottom part as light as the IX , the upper part strangely have some metal bar in it. But still is light. so i gues all together IF they weight 30-40 lb .
