sadly in the tri stae area those prices is very hard to find
what did you take out or changed to get down to 3157 LB that is pretty good.

for others who asked me about the weight of my X
the following mods are KW V3 coil overs
Gram Lights wheels
Toyo R 888 tires
Artisian single exhaust
Rays engineering extended lug nuts.
+ no rear seat, empty trunk, no spare tire.

Full tank of gas + my car= 3354 Lb
/Sorry i remember the wrong number/3320 lb/

But the best part of the weight distribution: front 59% rear 41%

Left front 49.9% right front 50.1%
left Rear 49.9% right rear 50.1%
adjusted LBS -1.63 lbs

So if i put my sparcos and small battery in it. i will be around 3270 lbs. wich is not bad .
And no gutting yet .

I was just about to post this. Beat me to it.

People are saying RS vs MR. the MR is supposed to be the best peroforming version of the car....period.

And if you really want to argue about how one is stripped out vs the other, look at the weight.....they were around 50lbs apart. I'd say thats a pretty even comparison.

This kinda sums up all the crap i've been talking about how "If i ever bought another evo it'd be a IX" and then all the X fanboys come in saying the X is like a 3 series and the best evo ever.........

Reality Check Guys. No mitsu will ever be as nice as a 3 series........thats not the point of the Evo from the beginning.

As the Evolution name means, well, a gradual, consistent process of improvements. Surely, this will change as MMC improves on the 4b11 and the new X chassis.

The IX will always be special because it seems MMC crammed a lot of good parts into the beast, especially the MR, but, the new X, is probably going to follow the same steps taken by previous EVO. We are going to see numerous improvements that continue to raise the bar and set new standards.

I will always own my IX, just like my Supra. However, it would be a shame if no further Evolutions come along to only have them be bested by a previous model. That surely, would be evolution gone wrong.

The weight is a lot farther apart than that, the specs on that video were completely off.

I didn't really do any dedicated weight reduction. In fact I may have added weight by going to the MR Blistein struts instead of staying with coilovers. I don't have a spare tire, jack, or trunk liner and I d a SS TBE but thats it. I still have the front and rear crash bars as well as full sized battery and heavier ETS FMIC.

You should post your window sticker. We all know no one pays sticker but its still a decent indicator. The EVO 9 SE was selling for $28,500 new (in my area).

well your area is where to buy evos. $3k under MSRP is a deal for sure! IX SE 3150 lbs with added weight...
well my IX RS with full roll-cage and gutted, no interior , radio, racing seats, no carpet , headliner, door panels, no crash beams, too much to list , was 3050 LB on Robispec scale. You can ring him up he might remembers /full tank of gas/

I have no scanner so i ant right now post the X papers .
But i will if you want it.

My window sticker was:

32.990 MSRP + 1.990 aero package +40 wheel locks+ 399 sport package+ 650 destination charge=

$36.078

in 04/11/2008

so based on the sticker the SE is 31.399
the X GSR is 32.990.
so $1591 is a difference.
Hm, i thought it is more than that, some reason.

Not that strange though.... they were selling for the same price from vendors here on EVOM. Many got a loyalty, college grad, and/or military discount.

I'm just trying to keep people on track as far as pricing and weight for the EVO9.

I have no idea what the EVO X sells for.

i didn't count for the discounts. Those are also comes down from the X price if you are eligible. It is not the IX privilege to get discounts.
So for keeping on track i didn't count those. Simply why , not everybody can get those or someone will qualify differently.
We talking about the average difference.

^ Agreed. No discounts, average bargaining, and decent dealer ....price should be under $30k.
