Car moving shifting to first or reverse

Hey everyone, another evo another problem as usual

My car has had this problem for a while now - when I'm stopped and shift to first it nudges a bit forward. Sometimes it doesn't go to first smoothly, so u put it back to neutral and clutch again and it goes fine.

Today I've gottan an Exedy Twin installed and since I figured the reason for the car was nudging forward was the TOB, we replaced that too. Well now it's even harder to get in first and it moves forward still, and it's waaay harder to get it to reverse and sometimes nudges a bit in reverse too. I've searched around and usually the answer was "a bad throw out bearing but this does not seem to be the case here.

What else could be the reason for this and what to do to fix it?

Any help welcome!

I'm having the exact same issue, so don't feel bad .... I figured it was one of those well known "Evo Things" ....

I had the same issue that you are describing for the first couple of months of having the Exedy Twin, however, I have not had the issue for the last year and a half. Not sure what the issue was, but hopefully yours goes away like mine did.

I have a habit of shifting into second gear before shifting into first or reverse when the car is stopped or else mine does the same thing you are experiencing, my Sentra does that too since I bought it new back in 91. Try it and see if that helps.

Yea that helps, I've figured that out already, however I wish to remove the problem. In stop and go traffic, shifting to 2nd and then 1st is annoying, especially cause of the clutch pedal and I wait in neutral at a light for example.

Might be related...... I had big issues with my shifting in general, I replaced the front engine mount with a solid mount, NIGHT AND DAY differance in shifting. I couldnt get my car in to second at all, and now it shifts great. A friend drove my car the other day, came back and couldnt believe how well it shifted, he said, All I have to do is think about shifting and it just falls into gear....... AMAZING!

Anyway just a thought.......

I would say the clutch is dragging and you need to adjust the clutch pedal. If that is not working, I would start looking at the master and slave cylinder and make sure those are working as they should be.

Last, check the fluid and make sure everything is bled correctly.
