EVO 8/9 vs. BMW 335i
AGREED.
AGREED.
What if a person wants just that, a 335i. after all, its better looking, performing, driving, riding and fun than any Pontiac GT, but simply cannot afford it? thats where leasing comes in. thats why 9 ou of 10 cars in USA, well at least on the East/West Coasts, get leased, and not purchased. thats why i mentioned leasing.
Surely a vette is the best performance value in the world, but you said family, you said safety, you said gas mileage, you said AWD, why would you then even mention "Vette" in the same sentence ?

The Corvette has absolutely no comparison. What I had said was that if I could afford the 335i then I wanted the car for the performance. Like you said some people go out and just buy the 335i because that is the car that they want. And it's not a bad car to want
What I was trying to say that if I was paying in the $40k's for a performance based car then I would choose the Corvette. I had already made it a point to say that if I was looking for a family sedan with AWD and etc that I wouldn't rock a 335 or an Evo because there are many cheaper cars that would fit those needs better.
And honestly I'm not a HUGE fan of the Pontiac GT.....nor many American cars. The GT is a great car for the money that's the only reason I really reference it.
Also I completely agree about the 335i, it does look better and rides better. Better performance, drive and more fun is entirely subjective (as it is also the topic that started this debate).
Other than the cold hard facts that put them in a similar range of performance most other things seem to be completely subjective. They make similar performance figures, absolutely, but they do them completely different. I think that's one major thing that makes it hard to understand the comparison to me.
Well if yuou paid attention to any replies to your own thread, you would see I did answer each of your ponders individually, and thoroughly. even on this page, just look up. but i still think the way the Q is phrased is odd, and throws a lot of people off
now turn that frown upside down
well in my freind matts evo (eva) may she RIP she was laying down 286 to the wheels and we beat these two guys in a silver 335i from like a 40 roll, and there were 4 people in the evo lol.
i like the 335i its cools, just a chip and a tune will put it in the low 400's in power and torque, but from there on out its not gonna be cheap to do anything else to it,
not to mention that bmw service is like getting raped multiple times in many different directions and i no this becasue i work at a bmw/mini dealership

Great kills dude. Brooklyn isn't too far, I'm down for bridge hop every now and then. Got any evo meets going on over there?
I was referring to the twin-turbo 3.0 liter straight 6 & RWD, but indeed. Not anywhere near as fast as a supra. At least not yet
unfortunately, brooklyn/queens people are either lazy, or careless... there are never any meets around here
and the 2 guys in the area i actually know well enough to call and get together with, sold their evos this summer (moved on to an Infiniti and to a pontiac)
