Ok I am close... I am close to selling my B5 S4 and want to get into the Evo 9. I am debating between the MR and the SSL.

The Evo will be my Daily Driver. So post up what I can expect if i choose the MR or the SSL.

I am leaning towards the MR. I want to get a WW Evo MR.. But I also love having a sunroof.. So let me know what your opinions are.. Thanks.

SSL, I don't think it would matter if you had a 6th gear or not on a dd. Unless someone has tried both?

 

I am not a fan of the SSL package. But that is me. Really it goes with what you like best.

Out of the SSl package the only thing I would want might be the sunroof. I don’t have one in my Evo but had one in my OZ. Personally I can live without the sunroof.

Not sure why I am struggling with this. I love the motor in the Evo. I have worked on a DSM and did a 6 bolt swap. Had a blast doing that. I hate working on my S4. HATE IT. everything is a royal PITA to do. I want to get into the DSM world...

Just never had the "low rent" interior before. My Vdubs and Audi's have always been packed with options..

 

Aluminum roof. Something else but not sure what it is at the moment. Not sure if that is a benefit though. I think not long ago someone posted where the steel roof beat (just barely) the aluminum roof Evo in the slalom. Sixth gear I guess is good if you drive the highway a lot. I drive rural most of the time (5 speed) and never really have an issue. When on the highway I don’t have a problem either.

Reason I don’t like the SSL is the leather. Would much rather have the cloth and suede look. Have never cared for leather anything really.

Suspension is also better on the MR.

 

Hmmm. I don't love the interior on the SSL. I have had coils on all my other cars so suspension is something important. I autocross my r32 not that I would track the Evo but I will drive the car like I stole it some times. I love the MR interior. I have the Alcantera on my S4 and love it.

 

they are both good options, just don't spend anymore money because it is an "mr"

 

They seem to be pretty close in price. Maybe a grand or 2 more. Looking for a clean lightly modded one.

 

sun roof ftw, you can't beat it for a DD.
