2026: What Did You Do To Your Evo Today?
My cruise control, the controller stamped 2004, quit. BTW, when visiting the cruise control store website there was a note reading, "If for the Evo please call," So, I called. I was told that there was no way to connect the cruise cable to the throttle. I said, "I know how." The response was, "Okay, fine, we will have it in the mail today." So, here I suggest is an amazing example of lack of curiosity.

The replacement is Rostra. The one that failed after many years of service was a different brand, a company no longer in business. I've got three wiring connections to make in the cabin and then the thing should be functional. So I am curious to see how it works. The previous unit was great until it failed.
Edit: Took it out for a spin. The set/coast button seemed to do nothing. On the other hand the resume/accel button worked as a set coast button and it holds speed fine. So, I have something screwed up.
I also hooked up a feed from the tach since it supposedly has a feature the keeps the engine from over rev since I didn't install a clutch switch. I've never had a clutch switch on this car and never found it a problem. But since the feature was there I decided to hook it up. It doesn't work. Maybe it is my custom dip switch programming. I set it to automatic transmission thinking this setting might be needed to make this feature work. Well, it may now be expecting to see a neutral start switch.
Tinker on it tomorrow.
Edit #2: It is tomorrow. I reset the dip switches to:
1. On
2. Off
3. On
4. Off
5. Off
6. Off
7. On
8. Off
9. Off
10. On
11. Off
12 Off
and everything works including the tach over rev feature. This is for an open circuit control switch with a light. The tach signal is available as a connector that takes a spade at the front of the auxiliary (inside) fuse box under the hood. Time to drink coffee and go tuck wires.

Installed ETS intake.
Took it out for a spin and had the UICP blow off after forgetting to tighten a worm clamp.. That was a nice scare. I pulled over and inspected my engine bay and I guess because I couldn't see anything I decided to lay my hand down on the manifold cover. I can still hear the sizzle and my hand hurts so much right now.
