Another unscheduled work... painted my rusty strut bar black to match my SSB caster plates and Shaftworks coilovers

 

Had a busy week/weekend....
- Installed Kicker 6 1/2 speakers in front doors and rear
- Converted to all LED rear lights (everything except blinkers)
- Installed full front PPF and side/rear tint - paid installer

Looks like you need to update your signature then.

I have tried it doesn't like me taking stuff out and adding anything. It keeps telling me this

I tried using Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black on my intercooler as an alternative to spray painting it with Eastwood's Radiator Black. The idea is this stuff is used for aluminum rifle parts to chemically turn exposed aluminum black instead of applying a coat of paint on top of it. It sort of works, kind of, but it's so splotchy it looks like **** so I gave up. I've never seen anyone else attempt this, so I had to give it a try. No pictures, just imagine an ugly intercooler. Wouldn't recommend it.

 

That sucks man, can you take that stuff off an anodize your fmic?

 

Oh it's no big deal, I only did an area behind the bumper. I'll probably just paint over it. I want it black to reduce police attention, I just removed my tints too for the same reason.

This was right before I took the tints off. You can see that the intercooler stands out, I got pulled over on Mulholland/snake and got threatened with a state ref. The cop was using the intercooler as an excuse, I only got out of it cause it was my birthday.

Hmm I would call bs on the cop being you cant help your car comes stock with a fmic.

Thanks, I always wondered about do luck trunks and ralliart lips, but I had this revelation after buying an AK that a near stock exterior is an interesting mod itself. The only thing different from the outside is the stealth exhaust, exposed intercooler (doesn't fit behind mesh) and 10.5 wheels.

Cops don't care what is stock or not, they'll send you to state ref anyway after threatening and taunting you. Your best bet is to put those pathetic pro-cop stickers all over your car and whimper sir yes sir. I lived in Russia in the 80s and I never saw **** like this.

But the officer was right. Maybe he knew that wasn't the OEM radiator. Or a lucky guess. Either way, can't say much about that.

 

Cops aren't stupid Kaj they know what stuff is. Its all judgement. Its like a cop pulling over a Ferrari and saying hey your car is redish. They know sports cars have **** like that on them.
