IMO as long as you have all the openings sealed up with painters tape or cardboard on the bottom and keep it clean it should be fine.
I want to PC mine too but the baffle mod seems sketchy but works. If your powder coating anyways you prob should remove the baffles because I’m sure I’ve read that the powder/sand can get stuck either way. GL

Yesterday I changed the plugs and ran a compression test 140 across on a cold block. I can live with those numbers. I have ordered evo scan as the tune could use some work.
Gave these metric bolts some ‘Merica today. Took the OEM MN119783 turbo to manifold bolt, reduced the head from 14mm to 12mm, trimmed lip off head, reduced flange etc didn’t take very long and nothing half assed. Perfect fit, won’t break off like Arps, can get tools on easy, 1G in the rear makes it OEM all the way around. Perfect FP cast manifold bolt kit and I won’t be drilling out another ARP. Glad made a couple extra lol!
For anyone that has removed their brembos for paint/powdercoat or installed SS brake lines. I plan to install SS brake lines as well as take off my calipers to paint them. My question is if I remove the rubber brake lines can I just keep the hardlines open like that for a day or 2 when I paint my calipers? I plan to flush out the fluid for brand new one after I am done with bolting everything up. My concern is the reservoir draining fully and introducing air into the system through the reservoir.

I would try and cap them off. Maybe a valve stem cap or similar?
Saturday I dropped my Evo off at Walushka Auto House. Its been 4 years since she ran due to the transmission.
Its got the whole stage 1 Shep driveline going into the car with the motor i rebuilt 3 years ago.
It sucks when you dont have time to finish the need projects.
The entire rear suspension was removes and I undercoated from the firewall to under the rear tail lights 3 years ago.....

Nice pickup!!! I still want an evo in that body style
I've always loved how the HKS exhaust sounds. I'm debating between the tomei and hks for my evo x
Cant comment on the X as I have heard neither exhaust on one but on my IX, the Tomei sounded better. It is louder too since it doesnt have a resonator. But for me, the HKS is perfectly fine.
Sucked it up and cut a hole in my headliner. Moved the microphone from behind the dash trim to the roof using a '19 Mirage microphone bezel (microphone was incompatible, but the Outlander microphone snaps into the Mirage bezel).
Hopefully finished up dialing in these Swift / D2 drag coilovers. Pain In the *** lol. Waiting on my headlights to get back. Having them painted black and the lens being ceramic coated.
Recently my evo 8 2003 started to run really rough idle . But no loss of power. Took to local tuner and he said the car has cams and the rough idle was normal with cams. Anybody out there have any idea? Note I have owned the car for over 10 years never did it idle like this. Please help with an answer,, sorry I’m a newbie to evo m
