as for the phone mount, this looks like the best location for me. my clock is always wrong anyway, good spot for recording too. I'm going to need a longer ball joint (sorry for the pic. I used the kid's tablet)

these are both solid options, nicely done. i thought about coming out of the bezel on the side like that, but there wasn't enough gap already without adding any for me.
Wedge-on phone mount/dashcam + QC USB ports on the (ashtray) gauge pod (will redo this later). The phone mount is my first 3d print "design" if you call it that. will test tomorrow with my stiff springs. should be good for street driving but needs to be taped if used for racing.
The gauge pod is not my design. I think someone here posted about it. I just added the USB ports. eventually I will have to use wireless charging when I find time to replace that clock
Started getting P0171 lean condition and today think maybe got it solved.
Let's all remember I am learning and learned that you can totally wreck injector O-rings if you don't know. I didn't so then did.
I am ready for more issues in this area so have a new O2 sensor ready to go...but pics argue it was my screw up...and I totally lost one of the bloody fuel rail spacers to the top of the transmission...
WHATEVER, injectors cleaned, wonky idle gone and later when traffic dies I go rippin' and see if I fix. New O-rings, clean flow, ready to go. See what I did!?! Gadzooks what a mistake. x3 even! Sorted now. Yeesh. Anyone need some carcass bits? Roof is mine though. Firewall has converted a 9 wagon to LHD. Grimgrak did that.

Reason: what happened to the firewall
THE BOING IS GONE!!!
Of course I made the blasted boing in the first place by not knowing a thing. Now I know what is and how not to pre load sway bar.
Yeah, when I put the car back together I didn't know about that and so blah blah boing boing.
Fixed.
More satisfying than the FOB battery, I tell you what!

you're using "pre-load" to improve the dampening of your suspension?

Lol, you think I know that much? Shucks.
Nope, I just am now scratching the surface of proper suspension and how to actually feel a difference. Kinda needed to mess it up then correct and notice the feel. When I put car back together I did not load rear before installing links and that made that *** end real squirelly. I thought maybe from no wing but finally clued into my mistake. Now it's all nice and...neutral I guess?
Either way butt is nice and planted now and I learned more.
Plus gas mileage is way up from the O-tings. Car is happy.
Added a Kenwood DMX1037s and a few additional hidden interior switches. I have the unit setup with an on/off/on switch (ignition source, off, battery source) so I can have the unit showing the standby screen with my custom background artwork while the car is turned off...AKA "char show mode". Next on the list is to integrate a fanless mini pc running EvoScan, automatically, fullscreen, with completely custom gauges and gauge layout. I will be able to switch to the HDMI source 1280x720 and have the EvoScan gauge template fill the screen with no user interaction required.. I have already completed some of the beta testing...so stay tuned.
Sometimes I think the car show crowd probably puts more time into their cars than the performance crowd.
And then you have the odd breed that play in both camps like me. I am not a fan of all show and no go, but to each their own. Later this year, maybe early 2024, I will be nearing the end of my performance mod list with new headers and an FP Red or Green. I’m not planning on reducing weight and adding a roll cage for my DD so does that put me in the car show crowd more so than the performance crowd? 😁 Will be hitting the 500+ HP mark shortly which has been my goal and learning/doing it all myself.
It’s my DD so that’s why I opted to add the floating screen. It’s definitely not a look for everyone. Wanted the CarPlay and HD audio. The Systems Engineer in me looked at the finished product and that HDMI input and said “hmmm I wonder”. I’m looking forward to always having MPG, AFR, Battery, Coolant temp, Air temp, Flex %, etc at my fingertips. Love it when my day job/skills can align with my car passion.
Upgraded my alt to a JDM 150A unit, installed a buschur ported IM, remade my power & charging subharness to use 1/0 cable, made a 1/0 power cable for my battery to fuse box, remade & separated my grounding wire to use 1/0 cable along with making 1/0 grounds for my head, intake manifold & alternator. Made a new 4" intake with a velocity stack & bigger filter. Moved my ETH content sensor after the rail but before FPR for full pump pressure.
