What does everyone think?

After reading all these complaints about the EVO I am getting kind of worried about buying one. I am supposed to get my EVO next week but now I'm kinda hesitant. Please any feedback would be great help. Thanks.

For every complaint you hear of, there are 1000 others who are quietly enjoying their cars.

True, I'm one of them. Don't worry, as long as you drive your car in a right way and keep all the maintenance updated, I assure you, your car will last longer.

If you have test driven one of these cars, then that is all you need. ::

Seriously, I love my car, like most people who have them. The car is just so fun to drive. Grippy tires, excellent suspension, AWD, turbo pushing nearly 20 psi, racing seats, Brembo brakes, lightweight body components.....and the list goes on and on...

NOT true! If you read my thread under warranty you will see that I am screwed over and I drive my car like an old man along with doing all scheduled servicing. Driving the car well DOES NOT mean you won't have problems with the car and dont let anyone fool you into thinking it will. Sure some people are lucky and get a car that doesn't have a problem but I am sure their time is coming.

Dont get me wrong--the car is badass! But just know what you are getting into before you purchase. If you can put up with Mits crap because by your overwhelming love for the car, then go for it!

People are waay more likely to complain than they are to compliment a product online. Go to any consumer report type site, and you will notice this quickly. If you are angry, you seek out a way to 'warn' others to to scold the company. If you are happy, you drive and smile.

The Evo is a car like any other. There are good ones that roll off the assembly line and there are bad ones.

You are buying a track car for use on public roads. Be prepared for that and nothing less.

LUCKY they didn't have a problem? If you buy a new car, you shouldn't expect anything to happen to it. I'd say some of you folks are unlucky you had issues. Really when buying a brand new car luck should have nothing to do with the experience.

If your main focus is drag racing the stock car you might want to pick a different vehicle. If you look at the forum, most of the complaints are related to clutch issues associated with high rpm launches.

The EVO is a fun car... handles like a go cart, good power and it can be used as a regular car just fine. You can go wild with mods if you accept the warranty and resale issues.

I guess I'm saying it depends on your goals for the car. There are other cars with more stock power (STI) or equal power (SRT4) but neither have the handling and driving feeling of the EVO.

Do research on other cars you may purchase besides the EVO. Locate their internet forums, and you'll see complaints about them also. Consumers are more willing 'stand up' to complain than to commend.

Bottom line, purchase a car you'll enjoy...

13,000 miles, 1 recall and a creaking door which some WD40 took care of. Other than that, its been great so far. The car still feels solid, where as my old DSM already felt "loose" at this mileage.

Things are generally blown out of proportion on the internet, since people can vent as much as they want. Members on this board do not represent nearly the total amount of Evo owners at all.
