Leather heavy seats = FTL

 

Damn, after reading this thread... Anyone wanna by my VIII?!! When I was in the market to pick up an Evo i was originally going for the IX becasue of the reasons above, but I got a pretty good deal on a VIII and the seats are not to bad. They look a lot better in person and I can live with them for now. Good Luck!

 

IX FTW...drove both before I bought mine. IX just felt better and looked better.

 

God, way to dig up a topic from the dead and tritech it IX's obvioulsy, hence the name of the car.... each evolution gets better than the last

 

You can always convert your interior too....

 

IX interior definitely a plus over the VIII but i wouldn't overspend on a IX just based on the seats, fake cf dash trim and black steering wheel.

 

When I was looking for an evo, I wanted a IX also. Picked up my VIII RS instead an have since really grown to love the blue recaros

 

Well, I know I didn't buy my car for its interior. BBY matchs the ugly blue recaro's the best for me though. SSL interiors just have to much uncomfortable hard leather, plus on a cold day you slide all over in those seats. IX look the best really, but not worth it to me.
But really to me and most others, all the VIII and IX have cheap crappy interiors.

 

Yep the EVo IX has the interior, I will soon replace with new seats anyways..

After checking many galleries and seeing the difference in interior photos, I hate the fake carbon fiber but I absolutely love the seats. That, plus the MIVEC and front bumper, I don't see a reason to get an VIII.

I will be looking for a BBY IX.

And to those of you who used to be 350Z owners, I can already say this. It will be great to have a car that I don't see 3-5 times daily on the road.

i have a non ssl 8 and i like the recaros, but the ssl and the nines DO have a better interior. the leather adds some grown up feel, although not much. i like the leather door panels and seats. if you search, i think there is a post about how the nine ( and leather seats) are more slippery in turns, but that is minor. good luck.

 

i like the IX better, feels more "put together"...then again i might be being biased
