I bought my car back in April and have about 6500 miles. Again, although I have not had any major problems with my car (knocking on wood again), one have to admit, when trying to get warranty service from Mitsu, it is a *****. They try so hard not to warranty you even though it might be a defect. I just think that Mitsu needs to know that we do like our cars but it's just that their service really really sucks. It seems that they don't care about customer satifaction. And even though if quality is good but service is not, one will most likely not buy from the same company again. Anyways, I am curious....might some of your mods..whatever they might be...are somehow causing those that are having problems? I don't know.

Meter, damn was not sure what it was and I have been doing this for a while. lol It does stop well. Going to do the cryo on the rotors and see if that helps. I think when I get slicks next year it will help stoping as well. After a 30min session of beating on the car I got to a 100 and hit the breaks and still got into ABS. I like this car better then the NSX and it's still stock. I was taking the carosel at barber at 70MPH!!! hahah nice 4 wheel drift.

Just think if it were, you'd be braking after the last marker at 100mph!

But then again your cars weighs almost 3x what a formula one car does, without the downforce and not making the 850hp they do.

Let me just say one more thing....getting warranty work done is not a problem with Mitsu Corp. it's a problem with your dealer ship... Some dealerships will do anything to get repeat business while others won't left a finger till you start talking legal... So best thing to do is to get to know the service guys before you have problems... build up a friendship...no matter how little of a relationship it is...it will help come time to have work done...

Hey StrickyBiz,

A few quick questions.

Have you modified your car, if so what have you/ and or someone else done to it and who?

Have you taken your car and run it at any road racing event, rally, or straight line shifty shifty?

Boy oh boy that sounds so familiar. I am 18 so I think they are being prejudice against me but thats besides the point. I bought my car like august 17 or something. Last week my car made a clanking sound and then pulled to the left bad. I brought it in the check it out. They said it was my front right axle, They ordered the part and then fixed it. Then they said it still had a problem. I was like you gotta be kidding me. They checked it out and said the spline rod was stripped from the transfer case to the tranny. I was like wtf. My dad started flipping on them. they were like we won't cover it. My dad called some reps in cali (I live in mass) and they are getting it checked. The service manager is trying to get it winged and pass it. They are now taking it apart to check the clutch to see how it is. If no burns or major abuse they will cover it. I haven't beaten on my clutch cept a couple launches at the track so I don't know how it will be. But I never burnt my clutch and I only have 2100 miles on the car.

Most tests put the 60-0 braking in the low 100ft. MotorTrend, with a professional driver behind the wheel has 100-0 in 89 meters. What evidence would support the assertion that the car is incapable of braking from 100-40 in 150ft?

I probably got one of the first Evos out and on this board, Fireball beat me to it . The first in Ohio I believe. I drove the 600 mile breakin launching a few 3 times, 7k drops. Redlining from time to time. Then moded it, decently. I now have 8,200 miles, got the car in Feb. Daily driver at 21psi. Redline just about everytime I take it out. I must be one of the lucky ones. Or maybe the old myth of "when you first get your car drive it like your gonna drive it later." I did.

Wlk in right, now, tell them you want a NEW Evo, or your cash, RIGHT NOW< or you will sue, that simple, they DO NOT KNOW how to work on that car, Mitsu techs are crap.

Lay down the law, I wouldn't have waited 1 month, I would be there screaming EVERY DAY, with customers in plain sight, you need to make a couple of scens in front of customers, they will begin to jump for you after that.

My car has 7,000 on it, no probs yet.

None. I was getting too many bits mixed up while glancing at this at work, based on vague recollection of the 130-0 test from the fourgasm article, in ~550ft. by 130-0 is very different than 100-0 and even more different than 100-40. So, 150ft may be possible for 100-40.

and for the trial, here's the evidence I could quickly dig up

70-0 157 ft, June 2003 C&D pg 46
100-0 292 ft, June 2003 MT Pg 92
60-0 102 ft, June 2003 MT Pg 92
80-0 194 ft June 2003 R&T pg 109
60-0 108 ft June 2003 R&T pg 109
