Sounds like the Synapse may be the way to go.

Good question. I bought my 2nd MR gently used, but it had/still has an APS BOV on it. So far I haven't tried to push it past 25 psi, but it'll definitely be going there some time this summer, so I'd like to know if I can stick with what I've got, or what would be recommended as a replacement in the event that the APS won't hold boost where I'll be needing it to.

APS will hold the boost, and if I ever ditch the stocker, it'll be for either an APS or a Synapse. From the sound of it, the synapse is the way to go...+1 to kracka on that one.

OK, great. Thanks for confirming. I won't worry about it then.....unless it starts unexpectedly sucking. Haha.

Kracka u need to update your original post and recommend the synapse or aps twin bov instead of the ix. I followed your suggestion and even though its not leaking it flutters like crazy in high gear with small load, on the highway cruising I get insane fluttering whereas I have read the other two I mentioned don't.

Anyway I bought the ix bov bc of this thread and wish I would have just went aftermarket the first time. I would have saved some money and time for sure.

The IX is still my recommendation for the majority of cars; it has proven itself time and time again while numerous aftermarket varieties have gone in and out of fashion. This is meant to be a basic guide so it needs to stay fairly simplified. Alternate BOV's have actually been discussed a few posts above yours though and you're welcome to comment on those posts.
