Living on an "Evo Budget" :(
yea i mean i make more then enough to cover the car payments the insurance and other necessity's but i gotta save for awhile to get the goodies so i skimp...mostly on food lol
If you can't afford to buy the regular necessity b/c you spend all your pay check on the car loan, then I really don't think you can afford the car.
This how a lot of people in this country go bankrupt b/c they spend the money they don't have.(credit)
I make sure the money I made at least half goes into saving, and set aside for car toys.
I wouldn't say "MOST" of the evo owner out there feel the same way as you.

My evo payment comes from little side jobs here and there thats why wife doesnt mind.My mods also come from these side jobs.like ill go to my friends shop and weld cages or what ever and i make $300-$400 a day.I do make a decent enough salary at my reg job that i dont need to do side stuff.but i like doing and it keeps me sane.where the hell you gonna take your hot date you pick up?

I'm in college too, and basically got a scholarship which helped big time.
See thats where you're wrong. You suspect that everyone is making payments on their car. Hell, I bought mine cash. And I'm 19. Made some more money and bought a new r6 lol. I will only spend money that I HAVE (and I won't touch my savings). I used to be all about saving everything, which I still do to a certain extent, but never really bought anything big until recently. Which I think was definitely worth it!

Yep its nice to buy an evo cash man. i was 17 when i paid CASH for mine.
I bought my evos cash and then started modding it cause i made great money as a Real Estate agent. Just gotta budget well....pay all bills first and then mod the evo. The car is not going anywhere and since everyday some vendor comes out with new turbo setup, might as well save money when you can and buy something that will be awesome and will be happy with for a while.
I dont eat at work or order out at all. I mostly end up eating out of a dumpster.
Most of all pay all your bills first and then whatever you have left over mod your evo with it.
Im just trying to get rid of my credit card bill.

I am married, so I don't have the option of eating Ramen or Easy Mac for months at a time. My wife and I do pretty good, and I just choose not to eat out as much and save. When I get the money I need, then I buy parts. Couldn't imagine living in my car.
Its always a battle between going out and getting drunk on the weekend, or staying in to save up for the next mod. When I first got my car and insurance was crazy it was tight, but now that my rates have gone down its a bit easier on my pocket.
I didnt have my evo then.... but in college I figured out that I can eat spaghetti for just about $.50 a day if I had it for Lunch and Dinner.... I got sick of Ramen, and stick of mac&cheese...
I currently only buy stuff for my evo with the money I make from helping out friends with their evos......

I bought my evo for my 20th b-day and I have a good job, a wife, a kid, two cats and a dog that got to pay for. Plus food and paying for a roof over our head and ****. Times is rough. I make more than enough to pay for my car and I am still on a budget. It is not bad to be on a budget. Plus you can save money and get new mods or whatever else you want. If I wasn't on a budget then I wouldn't be able to live because I would spend all my F*$*ing money on car parts and then get the **** beat out of me from the wife!!!! I am also in college and working full time!!!
Thankfully money isn't that tight. I got home from Iraq in June and told myself over and over again I wasn't going to mod my Evo. Didn't last long. I did about 75% of the basic bolt on's and left it at that. I have done some small things here and there in the past few months (front lip, winter wheels & tires, 2nd wingless trunk, etc etc) but nothing big. Right now I'm going to pay down my credit card (had to support the wife for a bit while she was jobless which is fine with me because that's what I'm suppose to do) and then start modding again come late winter/early spring.
BTW linwoodm, that quote you have in your sig is by Sergeant Major Robert Winstead, ret U.S. Army. I have it hanging up on my desk here at work. Nice to see it elseware!

I know what you guys mean. I was on a tight budget too when i first got my car. Now i just need to stop going out and getting drunk so i can save up for parts for my car. If i didn't go out as much i would of have a built Evo aready. Lol i spent about $200 - 300 in a week going out.
