Living on an "Evo Budget" :(
I got my evo a 1yr ago and it was tough. car 530 and insur 308 and it was kicking my a$$ now I got 3 raises at my job and my insur drop to 97 so I'm living it up now. So now my girlfriend wants an evo so might get one next year maybe an 8 or a 10
Vavy Voy!!
Here is a quote that I really wanted to share with everyone on here. Let me know what you guys think..
"I hated every minute of training, but I said, Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion"(Muhammad Ali).
it's depressing huh. it was meant to give me a laugh. kinda like
Broke from modifying a Mitsubishi Evo? You kids need to either need to grow up or get a real job, or both. If you don't already have the cash in your actual checking account, DON'T BUY IT. The Visa card is NOT the answer. Wow I'm beginning to sound like Suzy Orman!
This country has gone to hell from idiots pretending to be able to afford things that they cannot, who then consequently go awol on their payments.

I made sure I could afford my car and insurance with extra cash leftover from my bills and mortgage before I even bought it. I have to agree with the one guy earlier in this thread that said if you can't afford to eat/pay bills just to afford this car then you really can't afford this car. Plus I'd rather end up putting more money into my house and other things that will increase in value over the years, not decrease and lose value like a car. Sure it's fun to play, but you still need to know your priorities.
Some of you guys are pathetic, I bought my car at 19years old all cash by myself. Why are so many of you dead broke. Most people here are smart, which really doesn't make sence. Save your money, stop living beyong your means, invest in things, work harder, do something on the side of your job, sling something, or just give up. How do you people live like this is beyond me.

I feel sorry for all you guys going through hard times, and wish you all strenght to go through worse without flinching, cause the economy is though and bitter right now.
I share most of your pains and I recenlty was not even on an Evo budget but on a Lancer budget. I bought the Lancer a year ago also and I wanted the car so bad, let myself get screwed and got an 11% finance... I pay $400.00 for the Lancer and my Insurance was $290. My wife wasn't working and we barely bought groceries lol. Gas was about $4.12 and I had 2 fill up my tank every 3 days, with about $45.00.
I wasn't making money to buy food or pay my phone bill but I needed these things, so I was living on my Credit cards. Until they MAXED out. My credit score went down like an Evo at Nurburgrin and so did my wife's (I had one of my accounts linked to hers... bad move).
I tell you, then it was hard as heck.
I use to do some side-jobs fixing small business networks and sometimes was able to make just enough to pay the extra bits (my salary was completely obliterated by all my bills).
Luckily, God or however you want to call that weird thing looks out for you when you really want to. If you have the strenghts to hold on, things go from bad to ultimately better. The simple fact of believing starts the engines of "goodness".
As things started to move I got a promotion at work, my wife got a job, my insurance went down to $149 (I still have a ticket and one or two points in my record) and I paid off 80% of my credit card debt. My credit is now shining green and my wife's like superb-exellent.
Now I got a DD (Kia lol) and I don't have to pay it monthly, but me and my wife can afford an Evo MR each, thought she's planning on keeping the ES. So I'm just waiting for the right moment... I don't know if deflation is a good or a bad thing lookin at how things are right now...
I hope you all start emerging from the pits of broke-ness. I was there, I know how bad it feels.

You can't say I did it all on my own if you live in your parents house, don't buy food, don't buy beer
, don't pay for cable, electricity, phone, etc....This would also include doing all of this legally.
Slinging something on the side, just to get by is a harsh reality, but not something you can use to say your better than anyone else.
Do what you gotta, but keep it to yourself.
