That one won't go to 9k, it is an AP2, so I think it is 8k unless I'm mistaken (could be 8.5k). Regardless, it isn't the full 9k like the AP1s... But that's because technically it is an S2200, not an S2000.

6k rpm is about equal to 3k rpm for the turbo, considering the powerbands, gearing, etc. But the turbo kicks on and adds like 100hp, vtec kicks on and adds like 20.

I have a friend who drives the s2000(also co owns the tuning shop) and he RIPS the track days. He is insanely fast, in fact he passed me couple of times and I became a believer of S2000. I personally think it is WAY better looking then our econobox, and it feels way more sporty to drive. I LOVE my evo but if I had a choice I would be having a very difficult time deciding what I would do in your situation.

I'd think S2000 would value a tad bit more, especially if it's 2008 model so it isn't a bad financial decision.

BUT unless you are young, people will think you are having a midlife crisis

^ thats true. with hondas, they will take any and all abuse for years and not give you the slightest headache. my coworker has a 2006 Accord V6 6sp... wow, you should see how he drives every day, I think he has epileptic attacks every few seconds, i get nauseous when Im in the car with him.... a Caterpillar tractor would fall apart by now if it was driven like this, but his Accord never gave him a single problem. not engine, not suspension...
...Heaven forbid i do something crazy in my Audi (yes, even an S6), last time i did a few 'donuts' offroad, the car spent 3 weeks at the dealer, while I got a PT cruiser as a loaner....
and the Evo is also not exactly a tank on wheels... cant complain But already had to replace the Bilstein struts, and everytime you go into high boost, you risk blowin something... and if somethin breaks, its $$$$, and not every shop can even diagnose or fix the Evo... gotta go to a 'specialty' shop, which again is $$$

I went from a IX to a S2k... no regrets at all... I love the Honda reliability and the resale on the Honda is much better.

He was probably laughing when he asked you cause he figured you'd laugh right back at him so he didn't want you to be the only one laughing. You know, so he can play it off as a joke. When you didn't laugh he may have thought..."sucker"

Hmm I guess its all about the personal preference. I like S2Ks but not that much that I would trade my Evo for it but that's just me. Hey who cares, as long as you like it that's all it matters! Have fun!
