the dealer will have to do that for you. they have the scanner for it.

he is correct. it will work for about 2-3 seconds before the immobilizer shuts the car down. do what i did, put it in the car at the dealership and have them program all of your keys - not just the one you always use.

Or get the immobilizer code of your current ECU and Change it to that in the new one using ECUFlash

hmmmm...

firstly i am in Trinidad so no dealerships!

i have my old Rom, do i just flash over the existing rom on the new ECU??

BTW, will this stop my car from starting (the different ECU)?

i will post both roms from my ECUs a little later for some help if it does not work!

Thanks in advance guys.

If it's the same rom id then just swap out the ecu's and then load your current rom to it. Immobilizer is the key.

Immobilizer is the key.
no immobiliser key. never had one, the car was imported from Japan (hence no dealerships).

the reason all this started is cause i am trying to start my car, but no luck.

the car wont start and its throwing a code about the MAF sensor! i just wanna make sure the 'changed ECU' is not causing the problem.

the electrician advised that the MAF is damaged (lucky me dropped it).

well even if it was the ECU it would at leat start then die a couple seconds after
witch means its prolly not your ECU thats causing it not to start

Ok, so there is no immobo then you're going to have a lock smith program it for you. If there is a code about the maf then the maf is faulty. TRy cranking with the maf disconnected.

check the forsale threads. I see maf's for sale daily.

I just realized that the new ecu doesn't need it's own immobilzer. You're using your original immobilizer from your original ecu. You connect to the new ecu and flash your rom from your old ecu...now if you don't even have that saved to a computer then you're screwed. Why do you need a new ecu?

yeah i got my old ECU rom saved, but the immo code is the same so should not be a worry.

Will check the For sale forums.

Thanks again!
