Feel free to borrow the disclaimer

I know other performance cars have similar issues (RX7, Cobra, etc.), so I'm not too stressed. I just wondered if I was alone. The weather seems to be breaking around here anyways, so it's less of a problem the last couple of days. I just felt that running the AC sucks too much power (and gas) to be running regularly, and I'd be happy with ambient air if I could get it.

Well, if anybody figures out how to reroute or insulate the venting, let me know. Otherwise, I'll wait for the HKS 3" cold-air straight-pipe vent intake - with blow-off

That issue has been bothering me too--I feel like I always have to either run the AC (which makes shifting feel a little clunky and steals power) or drive with the windows down. I'm guessing the problem is that we have the same ventilation plumbing as the stock Lancer, which wasn't designed around a hood vent. It seems really dumb to use the engine to generate energy to drive the A/C to cool the air heated by the engine's attempts to generate energy.
However, it's nothing like driving a Viper, where even with the A/C on your legs still get baked at a traffic light.

I haven't looked at the intake vent, but I've been wondering if it extends far enough to the sides that maybe one could just block off the center portion of the vent and maybe get some cooler air from the sides, but I don't really know how the air flows at the base of the windshield at highway speeds.

this is a weak lil' solution:
turn the knob to all the way to the other side (windshield defroster) for a couple seconds, then turn it back to the head level and you'll feel cool air for couple secs,

yes it sucks, only for couple secs

Whenever you put on the defrost it autmatically turns on the A/C

Good grief, people! Turn the fan off and hit the recirc button. It isn't rocket science. With the recirc button activated and the blower on zero, NOTHING will come out.

Regarding the fact that the air is warm on vent, yes- it is true. My main beef is that the recirc button automatically goes off when you turn off the A/C from max and shut the system down. That pisses me off. I want to disable it, because I don't want hot exhaust smelling outside air! Needless to say, I hit that recirc button a lot when I toggle between A/C and off.

There's a car out there that you can sit in a 90degree hot day, and blow cool (cooler than atmospheric) air in with out the A/C switched on. . Please list the vehicles below..
