how to keep car quiet when warming up?
I have the same problem leaving my girlfriends house at night, my car is loud as **** (no cat, straight through 3")
I usually do like the other guys say and creep-idle the car around the corner.
I think the 3" QTP cutout is in order for both of us.
Let us know your solution, I feel your pain.
I would say other than some catless v8's around my area, my car is on the upper end of the loud spectrum.

LOL! my evo sounds like a freaking helicopter when its warming up outside. Revolver cam idle and 50trim. The best way is inside the garage, but then you wake up the whole house.
Not all neighbors love you. Imagine coming home at late night.
I try to be considerate when coming home at like 2 am. I just coast it and leave it outside. It's a helicopter landing and takeoff for me each time.
The cold idle is like 2k rpms. (that's loud). That's how the engine warms up. Another way would be just drive it right away. Which then it drives like crap.
Do you still have the cat on?

Hey sell your car, that's one solution....
j/k
but hey, I don't really care what people think 1. they don't pay my rent & especially my car payments. I warm my car up 2 minutes & I'm gone.....stay off boost until half way point.....
I've asked my neighbor if hears my car, he said hell yea but not everyday...
I get it from my girl too....
I'm close to the train tracks & a main ave. there's more noise coming from the freaking train
, cop's siren & buses than 2 minutes of my cat back Turbo XS straight pipe
Bom's Evo, bro you don't make me feel bad at all...LOL....
IN Coming.....everybody hits the ground....

warming up ur car inside with the garage door down is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I've done it once or twice and it just amplifies the sound when mine isn't that loud in the first place plus it makes my entire house shake. I can hear glass from everywhere chattering plus if anyone is home, they are guaranteed to wake up.
No seriously quit being a pansy like the 2nd poster said. Quit worrying about what your neighbors think and worry about yourself. If its cold out, warm the car up to where you want it and drive off. I'm sure people in the neighborhood also have large trucks, Harley's, etc. They can go eff themselves. It's what you get when you move to a neighborhood where the next house is so close you can touch it.
ey u guys what happends if u dont warm up your car , jus get in and drive?and do u have to warm it up in the winter only for like 2 mins jus by keeping the car on or what?Sorry new at this , my first car
Screw the neighbors test to make sure rev limiter is operating properly.
It also varies from car to car. As long as you don't drive the car hard until it is pretty warmed up, you can just get up and go as long as the car will go for you.As for warming it up quietly... Why not get an oil pan heater/engine block heater/etc? That will warm it up in complete silence! Woot!
Otherwise, F your neighbors, and don't warm it up with the garage door closed! Bleh, I almost passed out one day warming my car up with the garage door OPENED.

I wouldn't worry about it until they complain. I live in a pretty tight apartment complex, but I let it warm up 5-10 minutes every morning at about 5. I haven't hear a complaint yet. Then again my neighbors exhaust sets off my alarm if we're parked next to each other.
