well i believe it says ~14 gallons

 

I've been meaning to ask the same question because I thought it was 14, but if that is true my gas light turns on where there are 3 1/2 to 4 gallons of fuel left. No lie. Very annoying too.

 

My gas light has only ever come on when I was 11 or more gallons in the hole. 3 gallons when you're getting 15-18mpg isn't all that much warning. My previous car (330i) had a 16.9g tank and the light came on at ~ 15 gallons gone, meaning I had appx. 45 miles left.

 

Yea, I've noticed that the gas light comes on with 2-3 gallons left.

 

Yeah, I was going to post a thread about that, but I guess I got lucky. It is very annoying, because I always think I'm at 1/2 or 1 gallon so I rush over to the gas station and it only fills 11 gallons.

yeah...EVERY time i fill up its 11.2-11.5 gallons...and by then the light is on. unless im driving downhill. i've noticed this guage is very fickle, the slightest uphill will make it read more than 1/8 of a tank difference than if it were parked on a flat surface.

 

only 14? Darn it, I was used to the 20 gallon in my FD

Yep only 14 gallons, and our EVO's have big tanks compared to the ones over seas...they only have 12.5 or so . We could use a 16+gallon tank with my crappy gas mileage. I get between 19 and 24 depends on how I am driving.

mine too i hate that but i always fill it up when the light comes on... does your guys' fuel needle (guage) ever go to completely full? mine did when i first bought the car but now it never gets to the full reading.... and i always fill the tank and then jiggle the car so the air gets pushed out of the tank and fill it some more but it never goes completely full on the gas gauge.. anybody???

 

Mine goes past the full mark.

 

My maxima's was the worst. 18.5 Gal tank and the light would come on with over 4 gallons left. at 30MPG I could drive over 100miles with the light on. Talk about inaccurate
