buying a lancer evo 5 gsr thats in north carolina need help!

hey im buying a lancer evo 5 gsr in north carolina but it isnt registered what should i do? do i have to make it street legal? can it be street legal? can i drive it daily? please everyone i need feedback! thanks

Foresite helps. I think Lan Evo posted on your other thread to talk to a registered importer. Personally I think he's 100% on point, and that should have been your first step before anything else. ...Unless you can afford to have a non-streetable track car.

If you have not bought the car, you may want to look if that particular vehicle can actually be registered. Some of them are NOT.

Once you have done so, you need to satisfy the DOT and the EPA for safety and polution control. Once you have satisfied both of them, they will assign you a VIN so you can get the car insured/licensed.

The best way to do it is to take the car to a registered importer.
Prepared to spend a good $3k - $5k for have your car meet those requirements.
