Isnt there a moded air filter that connects to the lower ducts? I saw a bmw at my job with sometging like that and i thought it was pretty clever.

Think of it as the stock box connected to the front bumper duct all you would need to do is slide the filter for a k&n filter or make something that connects to the duct
