It's funny.. you can definitely see who has worked in the automotive business and who hasn't. For anyone who says they have never made this mistake, fine. Have you also never made a mistake at your job? Or have you ever done around 10 or 12 oil changes, back to back?

I'm a service advisor at a dealership and things happen. Glad to see the OP was cordial about it. You're alot better off and did yourself a favor. Your dealership will remember that and will probably try to take much better care of you in the future. As for the free oil change, take advantage of it.

THANK YOU! It makes me laugh at how ignorant some of these replies are. He is better off going back and to the dealership after a mistake like that. If he takes it anywhere else he runs the risk of it happening again. Going back and its pretty much guaranteed that he will be taken care of as if he was the owner of the place.

The dealer changed my oil two times in 4 years, the first time they forgot the crush washer on the oil plug, I had a small leak:
The next time the same thing happened , but the crazy thing is the second two I complained to the service tech manager, he said don't worry we won't forget that this time and he did, when I got home no washer.
Two times in four plus years is enough for them to touch my car

LOL, not all service techs are certified techs. At the dealership I worked at, we had kids do the oil changes and some other maintenances. Save yourself money and do it yourself.

I believe it. Mitsu dealers have always seemed to be careless in the past. Atleast around my area.

They love to stick it to you!
