evo problem help!? revs and sticks at 5500rpm

I just recently installed a new fmic and hallman mbc, i drove the car around the block (let it warm up alittle before) and i go to boost and than shift and all the sudden she revs up to 5,500rpms and sticks there. the only thing i do is shut her off. Start it back up and drive. the car drives fine normally and is idleing normally. and no i didnt install my hallman backwards. any ideas what is going wrong?

so did it randomly rev up to 5500 rpm and drop while driving? it Kind of sounds like your clutch is slipping.

At first I thought he was talking about 2 step, but you were already moving, I'm going to guess your clutch is slipping or your losing boost. Check your clamps on your FMIC

no the clutch is fine, my foot isnt even on the gas and when i shift (when in boost only) it revs to 5500 and stays there. Its out of gear in neutruel and still holds 5500rpm and doesn't do anything

I shift as soon as my foot hit the clutch pedal and its disengaged the car skyrockets up to 5500 so i leave it in neutruel without touching the clutch and it sits at 5500 and this only happens when i boost. the car will drive and shift normally but as soon as i hit 1psi the rpms take off

see if your throttle cable is getting stuck up somewhere or maybe your gas pedal is snagging up on the carpet lol, it happened to me before

could be throttle hang but even that your rpms will eventually come back down. How long does it stay at 5500

re- check the hoses to the MBC and the fittings. If all OK, then start taking off the mods you added, and see which "part" it is that made the revs stick. I bet it has to do with the MBC and the hoses, and the nipple getting plugged under the airbox. just a guess. Or boost knob is closed/open.

i have the mbc fully open, but i was running the car for a month or two with just a hose going from the turbo to the wastegate and it was running fine but boosting horrible lol. ill check that stock solenoid again and plug her up all i did was electric tape it, but its been like that for awhile i dunno if me just moving it around might have did something
