^ Not yet, were going to give it a try next year and see what happens.
This year we had plenty of bolt on parts to try, but we stuck with our two original engine mods since the car showed potential as the driver improved. We really didn't see the point of adding anything since Tom ran the numbers and told me if I could drive it we could get there as is.
We have enough parts to do an easy 10 second build, but whats the point. We have come to the line in the sand. Any quicker than an 11.50 and a 5pt roll bar needs to go in along with other safety equipment. We have started bending tubes for the bar, but I really don't want to go down that slippery slope to 10.00. I enjoy running the car not fixing the car, and while we did not have any issues with 90 or so passes this year, I really don't want to take the chance and tear up a car to chase a number. Our basic plan is to not have to run the car as hard and stay around 11.50 mark on 93 or whatever we decide to use.
In the NHRA Sportsman bracket class (12.00 to 19.99) I ran in this year, I was always last to leave, basically the quickest car in the class. Next year I'm moving up to Pro (9.00 to 13.99) where I will be the first to leave in most cases. Leaving first works much better with a turbo car and a two step. Getting the car to run in the 11's was part of our personal goals, but it's not what I enjoy doing. I like to race on a weekly basis and half way through the year we went into test and tune mode. While productive, I missed the competition end of things. Next year we are planning to run all the points races at IRP and get back to having fun.
Along the way we will continue to try new things to keep it interesting, but we will never lose sight of our original intent to run 11.50 as economical as possible. Will we use everything we have? probably not, but we still can explore ideas, concepts, and move forward. Thanks, Indy

I believe we ran around 12.20-30's. With what we have learned from tuning and driving this year the number could have been much better. Possibly in the 11.90-12.00 range on 93 if we ran in the same conditions that we ran the 11.66.

Jim, you are such a tease. To add to what Indy said, we discussed the 'sllippery slope' and decided to stay away from it. We both felt that we could 'detune' the car, add the FP-Green and easily hit 11.50 without pushing the car too hard. When we decide to test something new and go a little harder, we can still do that on an ad hoc basis. I don't think it will take too much effort to run the 11.5 with the new HTA Green and Jim can still have instant street response. As for the Nitrous, the Wilson guys have that pretty well perfected so we thought it would be fun to see what a small shot would do. Jim said it would make up for a lack of tuning talent and I told him where the nozzles could go. Perfect match.

Could be interesting. When pushing smaller turbos to the edge, I've seen a 50 shot make 100whp before. The added exhaust volume pushes that turbo a lot harder and boost usually climbs several psi despite it not being able to make any more boost prior to the nitrous.
The added cooling probably doesn't hurt either.

03whitegsr, the cooling effect response is good to hear. With the 26+ PSI on the small turbo, the cool 'charge' of the fuel and nitrous will definitely help for a more dense air. Jim's so close to being on the 11.50 bubble that it won't take much to get his 'walking papers' from ORP.
A dry carbon headlight face to put in at the track would be pretty damn slick and drop a decent amount of weight on cars with HIDs. Adding an air inlet on the drivers side would be even that much better.

... yes they are.
yea right.
