Love the thread! Wouldnt freeing up the exhaust be more effective than throwing even more air at it with the green?. Your bottlenecking the poor thing.

Maybe, but that's hard to prove, given that Indy is going faster than lots of cars with 3" exhausts and Greens now... The original concept was to see how fast one could go with a minimum of mods, using tuning and careful data analysis to determine where the next mods would be needed. I'm sure when Indy and Tom decide, based on real data, that the exhaust is a substantial limitation, we'll hear about it.

Thanks CO_VR4, I'm sure at some point back pressure will rear it's ugly head, but for now we just want to see where that is. Would a turbo back help? of course, and there are plenty of vendors selling quality ones, Buschur, AMS, and others, but with the coming changes with emissions control policy I wanted to see if we could get the desired results and meet our goals with the OEM stuff.

full suspension n weight reduction?

Or are these tunes JUST for drag.

Would your tunes be able to handle daily driving?

All the info is in the thread, but we stuck with the same two engine mods from day one. A Hallman MBC, Perrin filter, and a tune. The clutch was replaced at 30k + with a Quarter Master 7.25 after it started slipping, and we have stayed with that combo all year long.

It has OEM MR struts with Swift Spec R's, and tomorrow it's getting Swift F/R ARB's. Nothing has been removed and is as delivered from the dealership down to the factory exhaust with factory cat.

The 11 seconds runs were done on our 26.5 psi race tune, which would not be streetable. I run a 26.5 psi street tune on Shell 93 octane daily with total reliability.

I believe learning to drive the car was the biggest challenge, and once we started to figure it out, the times fell pretty quick and showed what the car was capable of. Indy

This is my opinion .... and we all know what those are worth.....

This thread is complete crap. They didn't run any better than any other evo with exhaust and tune. Even with race gas the results are not impressive because they left the corked up exhaust on the car. This approach would be retarded.

Now instead of uncorking the exhaust they move to port work, a green, and the bottle. Thanks guys.

Most people with stock exhaust don't have 4k+ in drivetrain, wheels and tires though. It is impressive but it also isn't two mods anymore... QM clutch, wheels, Hoosier DR, boost controller, filter, tune and what ever else they did that they didn't disclose...

Just my 2 cents

The point of this thread is to show what's capable with just a few bolt-ons. If you think this thread is crap, there are about a billion other threads to suit your tastes....
