grille paint chipping?

Has anyone else had the paint chip on the metal grill on top of the hood? It seems to getting worse and I'm looking for advice on how to fix it.

Unbolt it, tape off the rubber surround, spray paint it. 30 min fix and so far mine is holding up great.

clean the heck out of all the mesh areas.

for the hood vent i removed the mesh area from the hood. taped off the rubber parts and sprayed it with high temp black paint. a couple coats.

for the front grill mesh i put the spray paint on a pallet and take a paint brush and paint each little area chipping.

doesn't take long and it is a good feeling of accomplishment when you stand back and it looks great.

i live in a harsh climate area (NY) and it is starting to peel again after a year, but not as bad, so i will just take another paint brush round to it soon.

I carry a Black Paint pen in my glove compartment and use it to touch up the grill, works great.

Unfortunately, it's pretty common.

Another gentle nod to Mitsu's paint quality.
