Is this legal?

I just got my evo.
This is the most fun thing I have ever done in my life.
Oh btw - im using the beat the snot out of it approach to breaking it in. Put 160 miles on her today - changing oil in the morning. Will report back.

Silver - wing - sunroof.

interesting method of breakin good luck with it... btw no need to change the oil after 200 miles thats like using a new napkin everytime you wipe your mouth at dinner.. kinda a waste and doesn't really gain much

I took that approach on my 330i that I had, but it was a lease so I didn't give a rat's ***.

Congrats!! We'll be watching you for any potential mechanical issues of course, and you know we'll be referencing this thread.

What about clearing out any leftover metal bits on that first change?

I don't know if I'd change the oil but I'd definately swap filters frequently. I'll spend the $5 a pop every 500 miles for the first 1,500 to 2,000 miles or so.

you should change your oil by the first 50 miles

there will be a very fine silvery sheen to it (small parts of metal suspended in the oil that the filter wont catch) need to get this stuff out before it bonds to other parts of your engine

Quick oil and tranny fluid change... esp the tranny... the magnetic plug looked pretty "hairy" on the first change... pretty good after that.
