****Car thinks keys are in ignition please help****

Hey

I was installing a turbo timer and while doing it the car started making the beeping noise when the door is open and the car has the keys in the ignition. I'm guessing I accidently grounded out the wire to the 'key in ignition' beeper. Anyone know what color the wire is or anything they could add to help to the situation. I'm going to go out there and check it out again in a minute but any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well figured it out.

There little plastic peice on the side of the ignition and when the key is in it disconnects two contact points that bridge two connections that indicate whether the key is in the ignition or not. It's a green wire on each side of the contacts. The plastic piece broke some how and I am planning to go to the dealer to get a new one. Messing with cars can be a pain in the *** haha. Just in case anyone comes across the thread in a search the plastic piece attaches with 2 small screws and when removed you can remove the two contacts as well as the bridge. I'm going to order a new 'base' and 'bridge' piece and hope for the best. Otherwise I plan to just bypass it. I hate the door buzzer sound anyway.
