12,000 miles, no clutch probs, stock tires still. If I remember correctly, Motor Week (usually on PBS and on Speed) tested an Evo and did comment on the clutch smell after hard launches. Just don't expect to slam the clutch every week at the dragstrip and the car will be fine.
7000 miles
- no clutch problem
- I did have a grinding on my 1-2 shift but that went away around 4000-5000 miles. I figure the tranny needed to be broken in. No problems since.
- did have some rattles but they have also gone away.?
- only problem is the paint. By far the worst paint I've seen on a new car.

10,750 miles
-Have smelled the clutch on two occasions
-Had a rattle coming from passenger dash area. Fixed by tightening bolts after removing glove box.
-Tires still loooking good with probably at least 1/3 tread left
-Brakes still excellent condition
-No issues with paint so far other than a few tiny rock/bug chips.
-Have changed the oil myself three times at 3500 mile intervals. I check the oil level regularly, and this engine just doesn't use any noticeable amount of oil between changes.
Overall an excellent experience so far, much better than expected I think!

1-2 grind went away after line install
still have rattles here and there
have 1/2 tread left...
To all who have had no clutch problems. You will not unless you drive hard all the time with many launches. It does not matter if you can drive or not the clutch sucks bad. Mine just started to slip at 14,000 and yes I do blame myself and Mits. I just think they should have made a better clutch for a car with almost 300 hp and AWD.
