When you first saw an Evo ___ [fill in the blank], how did it feel?

That's about it.
Actually, I had settled on buying one before I even really saw one. I settled on one because of the 4dr/speed pack that you just don't get with many other cars. Essentially I was looking for my Explorer (which I hated) and my Camaro rolled into one car.
Poof, now I have an EVO.

I was an Evo fan long before they came Stateside, but I used to get so excited whenever I saw one on the road (I still do!).
When I first saw the X, I was disappointed and thought it was ugly as hell. Seeing it in person made a big difference, and the handling and ride quality quelled any doubt I previously had about it.

The day I saw my first Evo was the day I joined Evo and started to drool on pictures of Evos until I finally owned one. Even today when I see my Evo parked in my garage I get that same feeling I got when I first saw one. I'd have to agree with you about the X, I dont really get that feeling of amazement when I see an X but maybe thats just because I love my 9.
turbo button? how come i didnt get a turbo button?
i guess those two evos and michael knight were the only ones to get a turbo button...
i dont really remember when i first wanted an evo. but i remember when i made my E4 in sep 2004 i was like "okay now its time to get an evo." so december 2004 i bought a black 2005. every time i was the car and go outside to leave, i think "damn thats MY car."
when i see an evo with a nice stance and wheels, i think "damn those are some sexy cars...just like mine"

I used to own a Lancer and I started getting into cars and was like "There's no way I'm gonna sit in this sh!tbox while they drive those things." So I looked around and caught my baby
I remember the moment clearly, went to Downers Grove Mitsubishi in like November of 2005. It was a 2006 grey MR and all I could say was it was amazing. It had style and was super sleek. It was one of the dealers first IX's and they were taking special orders on if you wanted an RS, GSR, SSL, MR, SE, or MR SE. I knew that was what I wanted. Nearly 4 years later and a lot of saving and planning ended up with a 2006 Apex Silver MR

The EVO was never availiable in Canada until the release of the X.
The bumper restrictions were just lifted so I imported my Evo IX SE. The first time I ever saw an Evo in person was when I flew to see Mike Adams in Jacksonville FL (3000 miles from home) to see, drive, & purchase my IX. I left it in secure airport parking for 3 days, flew back home to work ... then back to FL to pick up my new Evo to drive it home 3000 miles. I stopped every 300 miles on the way home to get out and admire the car.
The first time I ever saw an Evo, sat in an Evo, and drove an Evo, I bought it.

Wanted an evo when the 03's had just came out, but knew that was impossible for me at that time. In early 2005 I decided to save for one, goal was 10k saved for a down and pull the trigger. I was at $9,??? in October 05 and decided it would be smarter to buy a house so I used that money as a down/closing. Fast forward to 8/08, found my dream evo at a local dealer(Black IX SE). Took it for a test drive(1st evo I had ever drove) and hours later it was mine. To sum it all up: Took me over 5 years to get one but I think it was worth the wait. For financial and age reasons, this car would have got me in alot of trouble at a younger age.
