When you first saw an Evo ___ [fill in the blank], how did it feel?
The reason why I'm asking this question is because I don't get the same feeling I felt when I saw the X as oppose to my first time seeing the 8, 9.
My first time seeing an Evo 8 in person was amazing. I was cruising a long in my integra when I saw a red Evo 8 MR zooms by on the freeway. I don't know what it was but I still remember how sexy the body lines were and how amazing the spoiler looked and the gunmetal BBS! It was back in 05 and from that point on, I knew I wanted an Evo - I was 18 and the MR just came out!
Somehow, I just don't get that same feeling seeing the X or the new STi on the road. I don't know if it's because Mitsubishi and Subaru tamed them out too much but it's definitely just a regular feeling of seeing a new model but it's not memorable to me.

I've loved the Evo for a long time. When I first saw one in person (Evo 6) I was completely taken back. The car was so short (from bumper to bumper) and rotated so easily. I never saw a 7 or an 8 until the day that I took delivery of my first Evo 8. It definitely looked a lot longer than the other Evos that I had seen, but it was a totally different body. When I look at my own car, it doesn't seem to be short and snub-nosed, but whenever I see another Evo on the road (especially a black one) they look so nice. I love the boxy look that they have.
It's true what you say though. The Evo 10 just doesn't do it for me. the front grill looks a bit too Audi and the back end looks like a direct copy of an Alfa Romeo 159.

the first time I saw an evo was in one of jackie chans older films, it was an evo 6 and after that I started lookin up on all the evos and was hooked on the performance that the evo puts out compare to other cars
I remember I was trying to buy a Supra, I recently (at the time) moved to Fl from Ma. I was 20 and realized I would have a hard time getting a bank to lend to me. So I was keeping options open. Ended up with a 3g eclipse spyder which was ok but not what I wanted. Lesson learned. After months of trying to sell to again pursue a supra I saw two Evo 8's pull off of I75 and turn toward me and they both hit the turbo button and took off. I remember getting chills and thinking Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I could get a loan for that. Within a few weeks I had my Evo 8 with 11k miles and paid just short of $22k (this was in early 2005).
I have since relocated once again this time From Fl to Ma brought the Evo. Ended up selling it early 2008 and buying my first supra. Both cars are awsome in much different ways. I can def see my self in an IX in the future I am sure

First time i say an evo, it was on the highway, I was like " holy shat there it is"
Guy was cruising in the slow lane, then he threw it in fourth and took the f*** off.
Neva saw it again that day. I was so speechless i couldn't even give chase ;-(
After that, i said..... it WILL be mine.

I swear I was bouncing off of the walls when I finally saw my first one. It was one of the 2003's. I was in the Marine Corps stationed in Jacksonville NC. I'm on Highway 17 and I see this white beast with the HID's and I was like Holy F..k there it is!!!! I had seen a Lancer just a couple of weeks before and remembered being pissed thinking that we were never going to get the Evo here in the states. I only knew what one was from playing the Gran Turismo series on Playstation. I later found out that this White Evo I saw was owned by a Lance Corporal......mommy helped with a fat down payment so I was jealous. Anyway he ended up let me driving it after he drove my RSX-S. I couldn't believe how much torque it had and how tight this thing was around corners. It took me till March 2007 to finally buy one. I was window shopping @ Yahoo Autos online and noticed there weren't any Evos listed for 2007 so I called the dealership and that's when I found out the IX's were discontinued so I frantically called around until I found a new IX SE and bought it on my 26th Birthday.
