Is a stock Evo as dirt capable as a stock STi

As the titled states, is the stock Evo just as dirt (off-road) capable as the stock STi? If so does anyone have any articles or videos that I could use a reference? I've tried searching on the internet and all I could find was track comparos. I already know that our cars are better on the tarmac but I'm really curious about off-roading. Thanks.

Not positive, but I dont think so.
As I have seen in really competitions, the STI's were always taking Evo's :/

I remember reading an off- road comparison between the 1st US edition cars, by Rhys Millen' father in Car & Driver, with his choice going to the STI in that performance category.

Are you planning on rallying? If so both the evo and sti will take some work to make them really capable. If your just talking about going offroading in some random desert somewhere the evo does awesome

Thanks!! That's exactly what I was looking for. What's kind of funny is that I saw this article but only read the first three pages and didn't realize that page four was an off-road bout.

2008 scca national champion in stock all wheel drive was an Evo 8. M4 was won by an evo 9 untill all the protests cleared.

I was referring to off-roading, like rallying. I'm fairly certain that you are referring to track, but I could be wrong.
