Evolution Imports [Super Mega Merge]
R32 or R33 GT-R: Rare, much rarer than the EVO VIII. An ultimate GT car will ownz the EVO VIII on top speed...much harder to drive, thus challenge the driver more....
EVO VIII: relatively trouble free (with warranty, dealership support). Easier to get parts (will happen), and good performance in short and twisty roads. Will out-handle the Skyline is slow-mid speed corners
That's what I think

considering that i doubt anyone in these boards has driven both all we have is what the car rags say
if i won the lottery tomorrow i would have both in my garage...with a 911 turbo 4 next to them

They're both stinking fast, yet different. The Skyline ride is very fast, yet stable and more "family sedan" like (relatively speaking, still harsh) than the EVO.
While on the EVO, I didn't know how to drive a RHD car, so, my experience was mostly from the way my friend drove. The EVO is more agile, nimble....less "refine"...

If you ask Claudius, I'm sure he'll have a tons of stories to share
I have a TME and have driven an R34. They are very different. From 0 to 100-120kmh, the evo will be in front, after that it better pull to the side. On the track, the evo is more nimble and "chuckable" but the R34 is more stable on long sweepers and killer on the straights. R34 is also more tunable
why does it say their address is in florida now... i thought they were located in california... going from a really strict polution state to a clean air state... something going on they weren't telling us before?

Evolution Imports - Status
Evolution Imports is working on the Lancer Evo VII and VIII project.Everything government related just takes time.
I am actually the one working on the project. Who am I ? Sean Morris
I used to work at MotoRex. I assisted with the legalization of the Skyline GT-R for the US. I legalized about the first 60 GT-R's in the US.
The officer in charge of importation at the DOT is no longer in the same department , and I dropped off the petition last month to him...
I flew to the DOT Feb 4, 2003 to drop of the petition for the European Spec Lancer Evolution VII and VIII.
The new officer called me last Friday , for some clarification on some items.
So I am working on some items , and they will have the information by the end of the week.
From then - hopefully the petition will be published 10-14 days later.
From then it goes in the Federal Register for 30 days. From then it , and any comments get reviewed.
It is being worked on. Its been a while now , just hold on for a little while longer.
You can email me at tyndago@ix.netcom.com with any questions about the process. I am working on quiet a few things at the same time - so I may not get back to your email straight away , but I will respond.
Thank you ,
Sean Morris
