R33s sold by motorex are legal...and i dont mean lotus exige and evo 7 legal...i mean honda civic legal. its under the nhsta (i forgot the acronym) list of cars that can be legally imported.

Every "street legel" Skyline (GT-S or GT-R) has to underwent certain convertion prcess to meet the DOT and EPA requirement. The list of such procedure is what Motorex kept away from its competitor RI. That mean other RI have to spend money doing the crash test, submitting paperwork and jump thru all the hoops just to compete with motorex...

That's why there are non-street legal skyline and "converted" street legal ones

i wonder why the jdm sti is not street legal and they want to import it with the bbs package?

i can only think ppl buy these for offroad racing if so why listed the price for the bbs package?

i got an email back from EI...the Skyline is not street legal.

It is for export only.

good thing that's a 95 skyline dont requires obd2

so it be a lot cheaper to convert to street legal

The conversion of a 1995 R33 GT-R is $17K, from Motorex's website:

Even so, the price tag ($17K + $22K AND shipping) is still relatively cheap for a R33 V-spec compared to Motorex's own R33.

Found this R32 V-spec II (yeah, A FRIGGIN V-spec II ) on ebay, too expensive though

37k, add the cost of shipping. Better of with the Evo VIII and tack on yer own mods. Cheaper.

But oh yeah, weh weh. No AYC in the VIII. Big woooop.
