From talking with G&K the people who is doing the work for EI they said that they are getting ready to Xray the Evo VII, VIII and american VIII. G&K feel that this will remedy most of the problems that they are currently having. I have talked with EI about selling cars as parts. I know that they do purchase cars out of japan, and then break them down into major parts and then sell those parts off to customers. This is not an uncommon practice; it is just not a very reliable one, due to the high costs and logistics involved with the procedure. From a lot of research that has been done on this topic it is not illegal at least not on the federal level. Different states have different guidlines on what they will and will not allow under the self manufacturer guidlines. There are also many company's who partake in this. Company's such as super performance with their shelby cobra's, factory Five with their different models and even imports such as noble. If Evolution Imports is doing this it just might be the opportunity that some are looking for in order to get those truly hard to find vehicles . Just my own thoughts on the matter.
superformance is a kit car and is put together, then titled as a kit car..... a dismantled Evo VII, then reassembled is still an Evo VII...... which is illegal.... not too many states (unless they are very lenient) will not accept an Evo as a kit car... you can clearly see it is a manufactured car....
EI ROCKS!
It has only been 4 years since the original people slapped out $30k.... wonder if they ever got any of the $ back?
