VIS racing carbon trunk

i recently bought one and tried putting it on my 06 se this morning and no matter what i do, it seems like it's a quarter of an inch too short. the latch misses and won't connect. i even had my friend sit inside my trunk when i closed it, loosened all the bolts and both of us tried to make it work.

anyone else put one of these in with success?

i had the same problem tryin to put mine on.. i thought it was the springs at first because of the weight difference but as soon as i let it chill in the sun for a bit, it closed like a charm..gl

I feel bad for your buddy sitting inside the trunk at 100 degrees

let it sit in the SUN LOL. thats the funniest thing i heard I have a VIS cf trunk on my 03 evo and the trunk is going to NOT LATCH. you heard me say it. You have to remove the springs to get it to sit mostly flush on top of that i had to drill longer holes for the trunk to slide on AND i HAD TO MAKE A bracket extender out of carbon fiber to get it to latch. I cut the latch out then i took some ply wood cut two peaces that mirrored the bottom of the latch i then stacked those peace and used wood glued super glue exopy to put those wood peaces together i then cut a carbon fiber top and bottom peace for the wood. Wrapped it and put it under the latch. I then drilled the holes out got longer screws and placed it under the latch. NOw it sits furter out. IM dead serious about this one i got my perfect viz trunk off a repoed show car evo for 350 shipped and had i known i had to do all that i might have considered seibon BUT i like that viz cf products are at least better and i did it all for the APR GTC spoiler and mine weighs less than 10 lbs. PM me your number and ill call you and explain it all to you
