while having a spirited drive on the highway all of the sudden I felt this tremendous roar...looked on my rear view mirror and to my surprise my wing looked like a "V" It had snapped in half and the center of the wing was pressing on to the trunk lid!!! WTF. Now I have a broken wing and a dented trunk lid. Could this wing be a defect? Car still has warranty. What is you guys call on this.
ya, i agree, wind would creat like a rip looking kind of crack, or just rip the piece of the car rather than break it in half, BUT id say take it to the dealer and see if you can pry one out of thier hands for Free,
LOL..i was gonna type the same thing as all these replies but didnt want to be the first *** to say it. Sorry.....not buying the story of the wind doing it. Something had to had cracked it before.

I would guess it was messed with it first....I had someone vandalise mine.... popped back into place and held in place through some spirited driving on the way home. Bought a rexpeed type c with the insurance money and saved the rest!

I could easily see your point and I would take it as that if it wasn't that I keep this car in my garage, don't leave it to parking lots. Haven't been to work in a week where the car is in a private lot. I had just washed in the morning. The NTEC guts can vouch for the condition of my car.
how fast were you going?
usually a wing will stabilize the faster you go. this type of structural failure would only happen if
1. there was a weakness in the surface due to a scoring or scratch
2. side of the wing were not of the same height, which might lead to a torsion/twisting of the wing, and if you brought it up to a high enough speed, the vibration and oscialltion might have been enough to break it
or
3. someone F-d with your wing before and you didnt notice.
sorry to hear about the damage.. time for a voltex!!
