I recommend a Netbook + Evoscan. Verizon Wireless sells the HP mini for 199. Evoscan is 25 for the software and under 100 for the cable. Total = 325, which is cheaper than an Apex SAFC, and much more flexible. Coupled with ECUflash (free), you would then be able to tune your car. You could always attach ur netbook to a flip out DVD screen, but it will need to be via AV cable, so resolution would be crap.

By resolution did you mean picture quality or lag on the infomation sent through it?

I'm asking because im thinking of doing a similar set up. I was just going to buy a cheap used laptop and a small lcd screen with a s-video input from the laptop.

Would this work or would it be laggy?

picture quality because of the transition the images will get compressed and the quality will go down a fair amount

... but then again, dvd screen gauges will cost you more than the average gauges. The only upside is that the functionality doesn't stop at being gauges...

I think a screen looks more factory than gauges to the average person and pretty clean to me but it just my opinion.
