any other models of windows fit evo 8?

I have a friend and his driver side window on his 03 Evo 8 got smashed out this morning. We live in a area where they never sold 03-06 Evos here. They did however sell LANCERS here.

Has anyone ever put a Lancer window in a Evo? Apparently the part #'s are different. Any other model use the same window as the Evo??

Argh this is the only frustration about owning a rare car...PARTS!

Thanks for your help

The mirror will be in a slightly different place. And some say the Evo shield is thinner. I have no evidence of this though.

Lancer windshield same as Lancer Evo 8 windshield?

I have a huge crack all the way down my windshield and i got insurance money due to a hail storm and everywhere i've called for a replacement only Lancer comes up and I've told them there is a Lancer and Lancer Evolution...I also called the Dealership and they save that the lancer and lancer evolution have different part numbers? Can anyone help me out here?

Merged.

Contact RusselM (mitsubishiparts.net) - he can get you a proper part number.

If the part number is indeed different, I'd argue that there must be some difference. There would be no benefit to have different part numbers for the same item. However, the Lancer window may fit. Roll up or electric?
My advice is, go to the part out section of this forum and find someone selling one

Post the part numbers on here. I can decode them and let you know if the are the same. Most likely the only difference is the color of the factory tint.

I can speak for the windshield. It is the same. I had mine replace just last month and I told them it was just an 03 lancer. No leaks at all and it's been raining a lot here too.

There's an excellent thread on here where this was discussed previously: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-replaced.html

Windshields are different --- mirror is in a different place, due to the spoiler.

Whether or not it is thicker remains to be proven, but I have a Lancer windshield in my Evo. No problem other than relocating the rearview mirror.

the evo windshield is definitely thinner and lighter compare to the thicker windshield of the normal lancer
but since the price differences is pretty huge
your best bet is to get the lancer windshield

like people have said. the lancer and evo windshield ARE the same size. You can put a lancer windshield into the evo and it will work. it has been done

I put a lancer windshield in my Evo - no probs.

The dealership recommended it and set it all up for me actually. If only there were more places like them!
