I had a bad experience with them too back when I ordered a part for my WRX. They have much to learn when it comes to realizing whom their customers' are and how they should be treated.

i never post here, i just lurk. i purchased a part from vivid and it took forever, then ended up being the wrong part. got the run around for about three weeks, then they shipped out another part that was wrong to replace the first part. they didn't even try, the part had a sticker on the front that even said subaru on it. i have an evo. oh well. never got my money back, i didn't try to hard though, as i didn't expect to get any money back. at that point shipping cost more than the part.

There local for me and I wouldn't even buy anything from them after hearing some of the experiences. At least if they screwed me I can actually go there instead of having to rely on the phone or e-mail.

I had some bad dealings with vivid a while bad when I had my Wrx

they have a nice selection but need to work on customer service and shipping badly.

BTW who cares if they pay to advertise here this is a valid complaint and he feels others should know at least if others read this they can decide before hand if they wanna deal with it.

Sucks to hear this, but everything i have ordered has been given to me at a great price and shipped out as soon as i order, i havent waited longer than a week for anything. Until I have a bad experience, i'll continue to order from them. Hopefully they take note of this thread and help you sort things out.

Well there's something positive.

It kinda sounds to me like Vivid should be very honest and upfront about part manu and shipping delays. I've seen both sides of the aftermarket biz since the mid 80's. There are always delays because it's difficult to determine how long a part will take to fab, then you run into delays with one part needed, etc. Maybe in otherwords....don't be so greedy!

The vendors only rule the roost at their own board, where they have moderator privs. Their complaints, unless backed by specific proof that rules of this site have been broken, do not get posts deleted or threads closed in any of the other boards.

The only thing that is endangering this thread is your inane commenting.

Okay I did not know that, I just knew in the past that people would post about problems and the posts would get canned, so if you have a problem post on the main board not the Vendors boad. Also that's trifling that you think I am inane

I am not that bad am I? I just call them like I see them. And if something I get is good I say that as well.

huhu! Chris. Thanks. I've put a lot of hours into that little car. I had a good time driving the old Mini up there on Fri...too bad the meet had a thin turn-out!

Ryan, I don't think you are inane. It's the subject matter of what you posted in this thread that I was commenting about.

This isn't aimed at anyone, just a general comment. As a vendor on the site, I'm a small one by the way. Seems lots of "new" companies selling hard to get parts. This is the problem as I see it in this market. Lot's of young people with no real business sense saying "I can get that." They put the cart before the horse. Taking payments for products they don't have in stock, using the moeny to order parts as needed.

Then they struggle to get parts they say they have because of having to deal with wholesalers or manufactures a whole ocean away.

Lots of glitz and glam and advertisements on forums and in magazines doesn't make a company a good company. Hit or miss customer relations is not something to ingnore either. You as the customer should not take any CRAP, from a vendor. I know there are few customers out there who just like to complain, but you have to take the good with the bad and make them happy.

If that means eating product or a sale, then so be it. It doesn't take long before the word gets out that you run your business as if you are entitled to have customers and they should be happy to get whatever you get. Wrong answer, try again!

Remember you as the customer run the show. Now that doesn't mean I'm going to sell you tires for what you want. But it does mean you have the right to ask for a deal if there is one. I tell you, if I had to wait more than a week for something that was supposed to be in stock, and they didn't tell me it was on backorder, I'd be on the phone finding out. Especially if they ran my card or cashed my check. Any reputable vendor will not run your card until the item is shipped. I can't in good consious do that.

You don't run a million dollar in sales business without keeping people happy. That is what any vendor should be doing. Mistakes happen and parts get mixed up. But as long as the guy tries his best to fix the situation, then he should still get a good comment.

Ultimately it's your call. If you get ripped off, please tell people. You are the customer, vendors should earn your business, not the other way around.

My thoughts.
