The VIVID RACING Experience
It's really not right that they took all that money from you, and lied to you about the shipping. They should at least take back the HKS part (that does not fit)....seven grand is allot of money! In the past, I have not experienced any problems with Vivid.
This should have been posted under their specific forum. It would have been funny for them to hear us rant, and never hear a comment from them. Forget those kids, how in the world are you going to lie to someones face and then rip them off some more. It just annoys me to hear these things.
I have ordered three times from vivid and never had a problem with them...I am sorry to that about them. My last order was held up a couple of weeks due to an out of stock item but once vivid got the parts they shipped them to me in three days and I live in NJ. I own and run a business in NJ and if I were you I would call and talk to the owner not a sales rep.

Have to figure shipping costs, yes, I could estimate, but I don't really like going back and hitting the customers card twice becasue I under charged shipping. The main difference between selling race tires and just parts, is I see the guys I sell to on a regular basis. If they don't pay, they don't get tires. And guys who race need tires. So this is my experience.
As for "to run a successful business you always have to the get money" I completely disagree. What about inventory, that is a calculated risk you take that you will sell that part. Yes, it is lame to have parts on the shelf too long, but isn't that the cost of doing business. The customer shouldn't have to pay for your inventory. He will pay soon enough when he buys the products. One reason
I don't run the card immedeiatly for the reason you stated. What if the part isn't in stock and will take weeks to get. This way, I don't have to go back to the machine and run a void transaction. Just one less thing that can go wrong. If by chance it takes a week to get something and when I go to run the card it declines, I just call the customer and get another form of payment. If they decide they don't want it, that is ok too. Have to take the good with the bad. We've been in business for over 20 years and this seems to work.
Yes, I agree, you must have the product in stock. I will always tell the customer if I can ship immedeately or will have to order in from the warehouse. Again, it is all on me as the vendor to do what is best for the customer, not what is best or most conveinent for me.
My continued thoughts

I completely agree with you. I have order many things from online stores and I would definitely have a problem if a company charged me before shipping it. Usually they will charge me when they are ready to ship. Whoever that said earlier that "to run a succesful business, you have to get their money first" is wrong. Have you ran a company before??? As mentioned above, why should the customer pay for inventory??? It is the risk the the company takes. If you ran a business before, you know how it works.

I don't think vivid will respond due to legal reasons, if that's the case. Considering people said they responded to complaints before, then I don't know.
Best vendors i've ever dealt with so far are Justin from lancershop.com, Dustin from drcimports.net, Adam from z1 performance, and Andy from boost solutions. 3 top notch, genuinely nice, respectful, nicely priced, great guys/vendors.
Sorry, don't want to make this a "whos the best vendor" thread, but these guys are great.
Anyways back to vivid
. I have seen a few complaints on the boards from some members, but never bought from them directly myself. I purchased something from Dustin at drc and it had vivid tags on it, but I had absolutely no problems with that.

I have already talked to all of the important people, but they wanted to charge me a 10% restock fee and give me store credit. "to keep the money in the store" is how he put it...I think I put enough in the store. They won't return my calls anyway so what can I do. I know what parts to buy, and I always use CC's. I am tired of it and if they don't respond then they are cowards. I should have bought Buscher parts..upper intercooler piping adds 40 whp on the dyno for a third of the price.
