When little kids see your Evo.....
one time i was in my friends evo at 7-11 while he went in to buy some snacks and these kids maybe 7-9 see the car and said to each other "wow that car looks cool" and one of them, the youngest said. "its an evolution" i was surprised that the youngest one knew about evos, prolly from playing all those need for speed games haha

I had a girl I was meeting for a date for the first time see the Evo and she actually knew what it was. I guess she had one in the same color on some video game she played with her son. lol.
My new gf and her friend were in it one day and we went on a trip. I saw an STI and said, just watch how this guy looks at me when i pull up next to him at this light. They thought I was joking until they caught him gawking hard.
Later down that highway I dipped on it hard and they flipped. they said they felt like they were on a roller coaster hahahaha

Anyway, on the kid note, and since I didn't put it in the other thread. My favorite kid comment were these two 16-17ish year old kids coming out of the mall. They were about 10-15 feet in front of me walking to their car. I was walking towards my Porsche which was the same direction they were walking. They stopped at the Porsche (it was at the end of the row, closest to the doors) and looked inside of it with their hands up on the windows and were walking around it. As I got closer I semi-shouted "Hey, you better be careful, those cars have some mean alarm systems." And they backed up a bit and were like, "Oh, we were just looking at it, we weren't going to do anything."
So as I walked up to them more, I unlocked it and said "Do you want to look inside?" They were like "For real!? This is yours?!? Can we really?" And I said "Sure" and opened up the doors and let them look inside more. They were so grateful, reminded me of me when the Evos first came out
One of the best things my almost 4 year old has said is, while sitting in the back seat of my Evo in her Recaro booster seat - "Let's go fast, Daddy!"
She's always so disappointed when we have to take the Honda Odyssey out as a family.

hmmm story i have is one year ago i when i got my evo and they first day i had it back in town i went to super 1(grociery store) to get some food for the crib etc. I park in the back like i always do and then i was surrounded by 1 tiburon 1 honda hatchback 1 honda civic. All the folks get out there car and one of them walks up to me and says is that a real evo or a wanna be. Im like look at the badges if that does not tell you look at the FMIC. they walk to the front of my car and there liek DUDE its a real evo and the one kid says thats my dream car man but you just dont ever see them and im like yup. I start walking to go in the store and another kid asked what mods do you have. Im like i just got it and parts are coming in. Another kid said i always wanted to race one of those and im like with that stock civic. he like yes and im like no point. i could give you a head start and chase you down but whats the point in that you know the outcome. You have your work cut out to beat that car and mine is stock. I go inside and come out with bags of food etc and the honda gang is still sitting here. so im like ok i get in my car and start to head to the crib next thing i know the same cat in the civic pulls up beside me at a light and starts to rev. im like ok he wants a demo light turns green and he launches it. i ease off and drive normal what he did not know was there as a biker cop waiting at the end of street
Favorite Evo comment was probably when I was inside of a fast food place and some guy was looking at it outside, he came in and looked around. Spotted some Asian guy and asked him "Dood z'at your Evo bra?" The Asian guy looked up all confused and said no. So the other guy looked around again and said to his friend "Must be the manager's"
At the time I was 18... and the Evos hadn't been out long (still 03 production). Pretty funny. Avoided thug-speak thanks to looking too young to have an Evo.
I read all of that thinking "oh God, this isn't going to be worth it." Sure enough. I lawled. I had something like that happen once here kind of. In Utah people love flooring it at yellow lights to make it through. I don't, so I stop like you are supposed to. Had some ricey civic behind me (I was in the Evo) and a light turned yellow, I slowed, he got over and ran the light in the other lane. Had I gone through I'm sure he would've been fine, but he didn't notice the cop, who decided to pull him over since I could clearly come to a safe stop at the light he ran
I'm sure plenty of tools out there have looked at all my cars. If ever I see someone really looking at em though I always let em look inside. The only thing I don't do is afterwords a lot of them like to go "rev it up, do a burn out!" and I just laugh and say no thanks.

Your posts are always full of win. +1 For letting the kids look inside your car. To some kids (all ages) that could make there day, maybe even week. And, it could give them motivation to do some right things and maybe they will one day be in the position to make a decision if they want to get a cool car. +1
LOL hilarious stories guys...awesome. I get a lot of stares in general. I thought of a couple more stories about mine (mind you I've only had my evo for about 6 weeks now)
Scenario 1: I JUST bought the Evo. I'm driving it home from the Jersey Shore about 15 minutes from the sellers house. A car load of kids in a civic drive by and the one in the passenger seat rolls down his window, pokes his head completely out the window and stares back at me. Haha!
Scenario 2: I am in Subway (I eat there a lot) so I'm ordering my food and about 5 or 6 teenagers walk by. They all stop and stare. Then, one of them comes into the Subway and asked who's car it was. I didn't say anything because I was still getting my food. Once I got my food, the teens were still out by my car. I walk out and unlock it, then I get bombarded with questions. It ended with me being nice...I popped my hood and showed them the two-step. They couldn't believe their eyes. Haha!

I live in apartments now (moving out this weekend thank god) and almost EVERY time there are kids out playing when I leave or arrive and they always say something like "cool car" or something like that. This 16-18 year old guy always catches me on the way in to talk cars, and he does not know a lot, but he tries. He was saying how he is saving up for a mustang GT (again, doesn't know a lot but he tries) and I told him a few things and now looking towards a 04-05 WRX. But, I was coming home one night and he was playing hoops by himself so I asked if he wanted to go for a drive real quick. So I made a loop around the city and ripped 1-4 and the expression on this guys face made it all worth it. He told me once we got to the light... "Man, I have never been in a race car before". Haha, I just chuckled.
EDIT- Oh, and the email I got from my nephews teacher about how my nephew will not shut up about my car. He was telling everyone in class that the evo will beat any one of their daddys cars. I just laughed
And all the countless times the evo has attracted chicks... usually the wrong ones though

Speaking of attractive women....they seem to LOVE these cars. Which works out as a plus for us single guys haha!

Thanks man. Maybe it's just because we share the coolest name ever (assuming your name really is Jake). That motivation thing reminds me of another one. One time in the Evo I went to Taco Bell. The guy at the window was checking the car out and was like "Dayum dood, that car is straight tight, what is it?" I told him. "How much you pay for it bro?" "About 27k plus tax and stuff (Mitsubishi friends and family discount hookup from a friend who knew someone at MMNA)" "Oh tight bro, I could almost afford that working here, I'm gonna have to check it out!"
5 years later, Evo VIIIs are sub 20k price, the guy buys one, comes on here to talk trash and post street racing videos and gets banned. Not really, but you can see it happening
Hopefully your right though, kinda like how DARE has those cars to show kids what they can have if they resist drugs and alcohol.
